As a Credit Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in our success by ensuring that credit decisions align with our risk management policies while fostering strong relationships with our sales team and dealer network. We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Credit Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in credit analysis, a strong understanding of UCC filings, and the ability to communicate effectively with both sales teams and dealers. Familiarity with the automotive industry is a plus. This role reports directly to the Director of Floorplan Financing. Key Responsibilities: - Review incoming applications and ensure completeness of all required documents and information - Analyze bank statements, credit files, and supporting documentation to assess credit risk - Manage pending applications by following up on missing items and helping move deals through the process - Support credit decisions by preparing files, summarizing key details, and applying company guidelines - Communicate approvals and outline next steps, including any required stipulations - Partner with internal teams and sales representatives to provide updates and address questions - Maintain organized, accurate deal files throughout the underwriting process - Assist with additional operational tasks as needed, including contract preparation, UCC filings, and administrative support Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in credit underwriting, preferably within the automotive or floorplan financing industry. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting credit reports (e.g., Experian) and financial statements. - Strong understanding of UCC filings, PMSIs, and other secured lending practices. - Knowledge of the automotive industry and dealership operations is a plus. - Experience with DecisionLogic or similar bank verification tools preferred.
