Who We Are The Games Social Experiences team is responsible for building and evolving the social layer of Netflix Games, the features that turn solo play into shared experiences. We work across every surface Netflix ships on: TV UI, Web, Android, and iOS. From friends lists and game invites to multiplayer lobbies and social presence, our team is at the intersection of real-time systems, cross-platform UI, and product innovation. Our charter spans both the backend services (Social Graph, friends, chat, multiplayer infrastructure) and the frontend client experiences that bring social features to life across all canvases. We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (L5) who can operate fluidly across the stack — from backend services powering social interactions to the client-side UI that surfaces them across TV, mobile, and web. This is a high-impact role on a team that is building 0-to-1 social experiences at Netflix scale. Our responsibilities include building real-time social systems, running large-scale A/B experiments, and shipping features across multiple platforms simultaneously. Who You Are - A full-stack engineer who is equally comfortable building backend services and shipping polished UI across multiple platforms. - You have production experience building for at least two of the following platforms: TV UI, Android, iOS, and Web, and genuine curiosity to work across all four. - You have production experience architecting distributed back-end services and scaling systems for high availability, paired with a deep-seated curiosity for navigating the trade-offs inherent in complex, large-scale infrastructure. - Demonstrates GenAI fluency, actively uses AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate workflow, exercises strong judgment in validating AI outputs, and shows high learning velocity with emerging AI capabilities. - A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, can identify the highest-leverage opportunities, and drive forward-looking technical roadmaps. - You take a thoughtful, practical approach to problem-solving that considers tradeoffs across platforms, latency, and user experience, and avoids over-engineering. - An effective collaborator who builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners (product, design, backend, trust and safety) through clear communication. - You strive to elevate your own knowledge and skills, as well as those of others, in a way that fosters an inclusive, collaborative environment. - Possesses strong coding skills across multiple languages and technology stacks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Kotlin, Swift, server-side Java/Kotlin). - Deeply cares about the quality, performance, and accessibility of the product shipped. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $388,000.00 - $558,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.
