Christie
Christie Lites is one of the world’s leading stage lighting and rigging companies, with operations across the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, and expanding globally. With over $240M in world-class lighting assets across eleven warehouses, we serve the most respected names in live entertainment — from Bruce Springsteen and Guns N’ Roses to Morgan Wallen, Michael Bublé, and Mötley Crüe. We are singularly focused: stage lighting and rigging. No audio, no video, no competition with our clients. That focus is our competitive advantage — and yours. About the Role We are looking for a driven, relationship-focused sales professional to join our Canadian Rental Rep team. This is not a transactional role. Rental Reps at Christie Lites build deep, long-term partnerships with clients in the live events industry — earning trust, influencing equipment decisions, and growing a personal book of business. You will work remotely and in the field, operating with a high degree of independence while being supported by Christie Lites' full project management, operations, and logistics infrastructure. Year 1 includes a draw against commission, transitioning to a full commission structure in subsequent years — rewarding top performers with uncapped earning potential. Key Responsibilities - Client Relationship Development - Proactively arrange in-person meetings and site visits with clients across Canada. - Build and grow an industry network — whether leveraging existing relationships or developing new ones from the ground up. - Maintain regular contact with clients through scheduled check-ins and show-floor presence. Revenue Generation & Portfolio Management - Set and pursue annual financial and relationship development targets in conjunction with the VP Rentals. - Identify and proactively develop new and existing client opportunities. - Influence equipment specification so that Christie Lites products are requested at the time of bid. - Monitor portfolio performance and seek out revenue growth opportunities. - Review and cull or reassign clients within your portfolio for optimal long-term results. Show Execution & Internal Coordination - Deliver timely, accurate data to Project Managers for all rental quotes, reservations, and orders. - Follow up before, during, and after each job to ensure quality execution. - Review show reports to monitor and maintain consistently high delivery standards. - Support Accounting in timely invoicing and collections. - Adhere to Christie Lites’ OCOR (One Contact, One Rep) client management policy.
Job Requirements
- Must-Haves
- Proven track record in B2B relationship-based sales — you know how to open doors and close deals.
- Comfortable managing longer sales cycles and high-value accounts.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and financial attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly — meeting clients in person is a core part of this role.
- Nice-to-Haves
- Existing network of contacts in the Canadian live events industry (lighting designers, production managers, tour managers, promoters, or similar).
- Direct experience with stage lighting equipment or production technology.
- Existing relationships with Canadian touring productions, festivals, or corporate event producers.
- Familiarity with technical quoting or rental contract processes.
- Personal Attributes
- Christie Lites Rental Reps are independent, hungry, and deeply relationship-oriented. The right candidate is:
- A closer — decisive, results-driven, and competitive.
- Emotionally intelligent — capable of building trust that withstands the pressures of live events.
- Financially sharp — attentive to the details that affect profitability.
- A self-directed professional who thrives without micromanagement.
- Comfortable with travel and excited by the live events environment.
Benefits
- Compensation & Benefits
- Year 1: Draw against commission providing a predictable income base during ramp-up.
- Year 2+: Full commission — uncapped earning potential for high performers.
- Reimbursable expenses: travel, accommodation, client entertainment, trade show attendance.
- Annual expense allowance scaled to portfolio performance.
- Laptop and expense account provided.
- Yearly vacation time.
- Why Christie Lites
- Christie Lites Rental Reps operate with a level of autonomy and financial upside that is rare in the industry. Client relationships are protected under OCOR policy — once you own a relationship, it’s yours. As we continue to expand our Canadian presence, this is an opportunity to build a high-value book of business with the full backing of a 40-year-old global brand.
