Senior Architect, Data Governance

• Defines and supports data governance strategy and goals. • Leads design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance and data architecture frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models. • Trains data stewards on their responsibilities, including standards compliance and supports them in completion of the work needed. • Evangelizes data governance strategy and requirements with technical and business audiences. • Evaluates and implements data governance operating models, tools and technologies. • Uses working knowledge of data query tools used to access existing data stores. • Review data models for compliance with data architecture standards – coach teams to compliance, when necessary. • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and data stewards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, or related areas.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
  • Data quality rule architecture and stewardship enablement.
  • Governance operating model support, including Data Governance Council involvement and Data Stewardship enablement.
  • Cross functional stakeholder engagement across data producers and consumers.
  • Knowledge of data architecture and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance including data quality, metadata management, data stewardship, and data lineage concepts.
  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or similar).
  • Data contract and data product design, including data producer/data consumer accountability frameworks.
  • Certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional).
  • Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.).
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements.
