Griffith Foods is hiring an Account Director – Protein Segment to be responsible for leading sales growth as outlined in the annual budget and Long-Range Plan. In this high-impact role, this individual is responsible for achieving volume, net sales, and contribution margin goals while driving strategic initiatives, managing key accounts, and developing new product opportunities with existing customers aligned with Griffith Foods’ capabilities and values. As an Account Director, your responsibilities will include: - Drive profitable growth by executing strategic action plans to retain core business, identify and convert new opportunities in target segments, and expand total profitability within the assigned business unit or territory. - Achieve or exceed sales, volume, and profitability targets, ensuring all activities align with budget expectations, organizational priorities, and long-term business goals. - Build and sustain executive-level customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor through a consultative selling approach that delivers mutual value and long-term partnerships. - Lead sales planning, forecasting, and pipeline management, leveraging CRM tools and data analytics to track performance, manage accounts, and support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). - Partner cross-functionally with Culinary, Sensory, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, R&D, and Client Services to align customer needs with organizational capabilities and the innovation pipeline. - Manage commercial negotiations, including pricing, cost-to-serve, and special promotions, while balancing customer value and business profitability. - Represent the organization externally at trade shows, conferences, conventions, sales meetings, and training events to strengthen brand presence and market reputation. - Coordinate customer-facing activities such as plant audits, trials, tours, training seminars, client presentations, and sensory evaluations to support account growth and satisfaction. - Contribute to strategic planning and innovation, providing actionable customer insights to Sales & Marketing plans, participating in new product and technology initiatives, and preparing business analyses and performance reports. The Account Director position is well-suited for you if you: - Have demonstrated success in building and growing strategic customer relationships. Qualified candidates will have: - Minimum 5 years of experience in the food industry, preferably within protein processing or industrial/B2B sales environments. - Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent relevant experience; fields such as Business, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred. - Demonstrated success in consultative selling, with a proven ability to negotiate, influence senior stakeholders, and manage complex, multi‑faceted customer relationships. - Extensive understanding of top-line revenue growth and overall profitability. - Proven ability to work remotely while effectively managing an assigned territory and customer portfolio. - Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, primarily by car, for client meetings and site visits.
