Litigation Insurance Adjuster

• Proactively manage litigation process on assigned claims to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate to resolution • Decide when external resources will be hired to conduct claim investigations, expert analysis or provide legal services • Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial and Legal staff • Proactively provide education and information to business partners and credit unions regarding risks and exposures, operations and efficiencies for credit unions and TruStage • Demonstration of effective interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, analytical and critical thinking skills • Provide timely reporting as dictated by claim handling guidelines • Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations and case law • Demonstrate knowledge of financial services operations • Handle claims in multiple states • Ensure maximum recovery or contribution are pursued

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of claims experience with a focus on litigation
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of policy coverage and interpretation skills
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, including working effectively in a remote office environment.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications and general computer skills
  • Some travel required (mediations, trials and credit union visits)
  • Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner
  • Strong organizational, time management and decision-making skills
  • Easily adapts to new or different changing situations, requirements or priorities
  • Adjuster License and Continuing Education as needed
  • AIC, CPCU or other professional industry education a plus
  • Project management experience a plus
