Role Description The System Engineering & Integration Team (SE&IT) is seeking a Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) to join the System Design and Requirements Capability team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will: - Lead cross-functional teams to develop system level architecture and requirements to influence Missile Defense Agency (MDA) incremental capability. - Use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to evaluate architectural impacts through functional and behavior analysis for the defeat of conventional and advanced threats (i.e., ballistic, aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.) systems within the MDA mission areas. Qualifications - Degree in an engineering classification, mathematics, or physics: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD. - Minimum of 10-20 years of increasingly responsible Systems Engineering experience. Requirements - Active and transferable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. - Ability to maintain the required clearance. - Collaborate in an MBSE environment to develop system-of-systems requirements via system/component trade studies and analysis. - Lead the development of Change Notices (CNs) to MDA’s system specification, including functional, interface, and performance requirements. - Support Trace verification from System to Element level requirements. - Develop and deliver products (i.e., technical briefings, CNs) to support internal and MDA stakeholder reviews. - Strong technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition, and allocation of requirements (performance, functional, and interface definition) with system-modelling tools. - Prior experience with MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS. - Demonstrated knowledge in any of the MDA domain areas, including Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF). - Ability to think critically and capture concepts in papers, presentations, and discussions. - Good communication/presentation skills and capability of working both independently and within a small team environment. - Work in close coordination with the customer. Desired Skills - Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.). - Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (i.e., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.). - Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures). - Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems. Temporary Intern – Employee Information Systems Mission: The Intern supports IDEA’s mission by contributing to day-to-day team operations, project execution, and administrative priorities while developing foundational professional skills in a collaborative work environment. The Temporary Employee Information Systems (EIS) Intern is responsible for timely employee setup and ensuring employee data accuracy across our employee systems. The EIS Intern provides excellent customer service, business partnership, training and support to varied audiences across the organization. The main stakeholders with which the EIS Intern will interact, partner, and collaborate are School Leaders, Executive/Campus Assistants, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Staffing & Recruiting, Central Leaders, and HR Application Administrators. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders. Respond to employee requests within two working days and receive a 95% customer satisfaction rating from all stakeholders.
