Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive, structured reviews of: - UCAS application - My Cambridge Application - Admissions test performance (UCAT, LNAT, ESAT, TMUA, TARA) - Written work submissions (where required by course) - Evaluate applications using a standardized, Oxbridge-major–specific rubric, covering: - Academic attainment and trajectory - Admissions test readiness and benchmarking - Subject engagement and intellectual curiosity - Personal statement effectiveness (content, structure, academic focus) - Course-specific suitability and red flags - Produce a detailed, offline written report that: - Reflects how an admissions tutor would realistically assess the application - Clearly identifies strengths, weaknesses, and likelihood of competitiveness - Provides actionable, prioritized recommendations for improvement - Apply course-level knowledge of Oxbridge admissions criteria rather than general UK admissions advice - Stay current on: - Annual Oxbridge admissions changes - Course-specific selection criteria - Admissions test updates and scoring expectations - Ensure feedback is aligned with Crimson’s Oxbridge FAO quality standards - Deliver reviews within defined seasonal timelines - Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism with all student materials - Participate in Crimson FAO calibration, training, and quality assurance processes Qualifications - Direct admissions decision-making experience at: - Oxford or Cambridge (strongly preferred) - A top Russell Group university (exceptional cases only) - Deep familiarity with Oxbridge admissions processes at the course level - Ability to evaluate applications the way an admissions tutor would—not as a general advisor - Advanced degree required - Academic background must align with the Oxbridge major(s) reviewed Core Competencies - Exceptional analytical and written communication skills - Ability to provide precise, candid, and constructive feedback - Strong attention to detail and consistency across evaluations - Capacity to manage multiple reviews during peak admissions periods without compromising quality - Commitment to student outcomes and admissions integrity Benefits - Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - Engagement with cutting-edge technology
