Optimal support location is in the Los Angeles – Orange County area. To support this challenge, Syngenta’s Commercial team is currently seeking an Agronomic Service Representative in Southern California. In this role, you will provide agronomic expertise within the district team. You will collaborate with sales teams to position on-farm solutions for growers through our retail channel partners by assisting with the development and delivery of Syngenta products and our agronomic messaging in the marketplace. You will partner with our research and development team to gain technical knowledge of cutting-edge new products prior to registration and drive engagement through GrowMore trial demonstrations. As a trusted agronomic advisor, you will prepare and facilitate internal and external training on Syngenta’s portfolios and assist in developing the district campaign Accountabilities: - Accountable for sales performance by providing technical and agronomic support and training to internal stakeholders, including Retail Representatives, AgriEdge Specialists, and external stakeholders, including growers, retailers, and distribution channel partners. - Manage GrowMore/Sales Support/Demo/RA sites as applicable and, with the engagement of the local Crop Protection Field Development Scientist, execute Sales Support trials at universities. Coordinate trial efforts within the local area through Retail Representatives and channel partners and develop sales support materials to support marketing initiatives. - Partner with the SCA to lead training on all key Syngenta products and solutions for locally assigned areas, working with sales teams, channel partners, and growers. Plan strategies to effectively compete against competitor products. - Collaborate with district sales teams to position Syngenta's portfolio on farms, supporting our go-to-market strategy with retail customers, and provide agronomic leadership in developing campaign plans for the district. - Develop business relationships with key internal personnel who influence the local market area, including AgriEdge Specialists, Retail Representatives, District Managers, Technical Development Leads, Customer Unit Marketing Leads, Technical Product Leads, Crop Protection Field Development Scientists, and Technical Service Representatives. Maintain relationships with external influencers, including key retailers and distribution partners. - Provide guidance, training, and direct involvement as needed to assist with Syngenta service calls. Qualifications Required: - A minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Agronomy or related field. Master’s or PhD degree is highly preferred. - A minimum of 3 years of previous experience with strong interpersonal skills and an agricultural background - Up to 20% travel within the assigned territory is required. Travel to Arizona will be seasonally higher. - All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta. Desired: - Ability to teach/train and diagnose agronomic concerns and communicate technical information to Retail Representatives, retailers, and growers in layman’s terms. - Technical knowledge of product portfolio, product pipeline, and product value propositions. - Agronomic theory – knowledge of farming best practices, seed technologies, and crop protection. - Ability to create a professional and successful working environment with Retail Representatives, District Managers and other key Syngenta personnel. - Ability to demonstrate leadership with the technical community and within the district. Additional Information Salary for this position ranges between $98,000 - $147,000 annually.
