• Serve as a SQL Database Administrator, responsible for managing and maintaining SQL Server databases • Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies • Collaborate with development teams to support database related tasks • Perform database performance tuning and optimization • Manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and reliability • Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and system resource management • Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies • Plan and execute database and server upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime • Implement security measures to protect data • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and business analysts

• analyze, design, implement and operate mission-critical database services • using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL • supporting day-to-day operations with large-scale, highly available, reliable, high-performing transactional (OLTP) databases hosted in geo-distributed cloud-based datacenters • providing Oracle expertise with performing database operations with minimum (or zero) downtime • being a liaison for database-related problems between operations, architecture, development, and QA groups • automating routine database operations using scripting or cloud automation tools • mentoring junior DBAs • participating in architecture and incident review boards

Description - EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE with DB2 Version upgrade planning, coordination, and implementation for current and future releases (ideally with experience in version 13 upgrades). The ideal candidate should possess deep knowledge of how DB2 for z/OS operates at the system level, with a solid background in both Systems and DBA functions. - DB2 Performance tuning (buffer pools, storage, I/O times etc) - Software Maintenance & Upgrades (CA tools etc) - Contingency Recovery and System Backup & Recovery - Maintain, resolve and monitor DB2 system level performance issues - Expert level “DB2 & z/OS Systems” level troubleshooting (They should also demonstrate strong diagnostic skills across all aspects of DB2-related issues). - Assist all agencies with various DB2 related problems - Quickly resolve outages - Work directly with IBM to resolve product issues & open cases - Proficiency in the following: - QMF v7 through V13 - IBM DB2 TOOLS though V1310 - IBM DataStudio - Platinum Tools / Omegamon for DB2 - CA Insight, Detector & DB2 Tools - COBOL Skills qmf, IBM DataStudio, Omegamon, cobol, db2 Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. • Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments supporting the RMI application • Install, configure, monitor, and upgrade database management systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance • Develop and implement database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies • Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and perform tuning to maximize efficiency • Ensure database security by implementing access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements • Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to support application development, deployment, and maintenance • Design and implement database structures, indexes, stored procedures, and queries to support application functionality • Perform database migrations, patching, and upgrades while minimizing system downtime • Maintain database documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures • Support testing, troubleshooting, and production releases throughout the software development lifecycle • Participate in system planning, architecture reviews, and continuous process improvement initiatives
