Job Description Summary The Senior Government Accounting Manager is a key member of the North American Technical Team within GE Aerospace Government Accounting Controllership. The role is responsible for providing leadership in the areas of maintaining compliance of the North American Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) Disclosure Statement (DS) and quantification of DS revision impacts as required by CAS. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities The Senior Government Accounting Manager will play a critical role to ensure GE Aerospace is compliant with the Cost Accounting Standards and internal policies and procedures: - Perform highly technical General Dollar Magnitude (GDM) modeling and analysis to pinpoint impact of potential CAS non-compliances, cost accounting practice changes (CAP) and DS revisions. - Major contributor to annual Disclosure Statement (DS) updates as well as support of government audits for prior year DS revisions. - Implement business processes that are compliant with the CAS and support the requirements in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Department of Defense supplement (DFARS), and other applicable acquisition regulations and guidance. - Collaborate with internal representatives and external government audit partners to support government audits. - Personally lead lean transformation efforts to eliminate waste, improve transparency, establish standard work, and enhance the value the team brings to the business. - Thrive in a culture of continuous learning with team members to deepen domain expertise, enhance overall business acumen, and prepare for additional responsibility. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field - Significant related experience at a major defense contractor, DCMA, or DCAA Desired Characteristics - Deep domain expertise in Government Accounting with significant practical experience calculating complex General Dollar Magnitude (GDM) cost impacts, Cost Accounting Standards and CASB Disclosure Statements. - Significant expertise in US Government contracting with broad understanding of FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards. - Experience in complex Excel financial modeling and analytics (ROM/GDM/DCI) - Significant experience interacting with senior DCMA (ACO, DACO, CACO) and DCAA (supervisory auditor, Branch Manager, Regional Audit Manager). - Experience with FPRP and ICS cycles. - Strong cost accounting background related to US Government contracting. - Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to tailor communications to the needs of the audience. - Ability to apply lean principles in a transactional setting with an emphasis on root cause analysis, countermeasure development, and sustained change control. - Demonstrated ability to lead projects / programs. Ability to document, plan and execute programs. The base pay range for this position is $137,000.00 - 183,000.00 Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. • Own all aspects of global revenue accounting, including contract reviews, technical accounting conclusions, monthly revenue close processes. • Act as a subject matter expert in revenue accounting, including interpreting complex ASC 606 guidance. • Drive continuous process transformation and automation across revenue accounting. • Own the functional design and integrity of the revenue recognition system and revenue reporting infrastructure. • Collaborate with Sales, Deal Desk, Product, FP&A, Legal, and other cross-functional partners on non-standard contract strategy.
• Handling complex, non-standard accounting and financial reporting issues • Analyzing and assessing matters in accordance with IFRS, the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR), and other regulatory requirements • Providing technical support to internal stakeholders such as Accounting & Reporting, Cost Controlling, and other departments • Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for balance sheet and accounting-specific topics • Responsibility for the IAS 19 process • Contributing to ad-hoc analyses, opinions, and decision-making documentation within ongoing projects • Close collaboration with the accounting and reporting teams and contributing to the quality assurance and consistency of accounting
• Execute operational order management from receipt of customer orders through invoicing • Manage and coordinate RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations) • Monitor A/R balances • Record incoming payments in QuickBooks • Approve and process payments for authorized A/P invoices • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and perform bank reconciliations • Review all monthly transactions for accuracy • Support the sales team with customer-related operational issues
