Job Functions: - Apply human-centered design and instructional design methodologies to design and develop advanced multi-modal learning experiences, including simulation, gamification, live action video, instructor-led/virtual instructor-led, blended, and social learning. - Research, curate, and/or adapt existing content assets to incorporate into learning journeys and blended programs. - Maintain, evaluate, and iterate on existing learning solutions to ensure content and learner experience are current, relevant, and engaging. - Develop ongoing support and updates to the training materials. - Create and maintain a library of global, dynamic training content spanning across multiple modalities and the entire Learner’s Journey. - Collaborate with the Learning Technology Solutions Team on the development of innovative ideas, processes and practices that will improve learner outcomes. - Partner with SMEs to understand program goals and define the learning solution that will make their programs successful. - Use Agile methodology to manage projects, balancing a high-volume of work in a fast-paced environment. - Create initial learning experience conceptual designs that meet business outcomes and appropriately take advantage of a wide range of enablement options that include: learning assets, knowledge management, certification, learning boards / collections, social learning, etc. - Provides technologically innovative, engaging, and instructionally sound learning deliverables for customers while partnering with other team members to ensure the most effective and engaging learning. - Drive innovation and efficiency in the design and development of modern learning experiences that drive behavior change through immersive, engaging experiences and preparing the content for deployment. Start-up Team Lead - Lead cross-functional collaboration to devise a project start-up strategy and plan for the inception phase of the project and/or new country program (first 3-6 months). - Ensure tools and tracking mechanisms are in place to accurately assess and communicate progress against the start-up work plan, resources (budget and personnel), and issues during start-up. - Work closely with the HR/Admin team on recruitment, orientation, and training new staff on MC policies and procedures. - Foster a culture of compliance and accountability among the team with regards to Mercy Corps, donor and government laws, policies, rules and regulations; socialize Program Management Minimum Standards and best practices. - Prepare a post-startup work plan to guide transition to regular program implementation. Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills - BA/S or equivalent in a relevant field required. - At least 5 years of field experience in international relief and development programs. - Prior experience with Mercy Corps within the last four years, as an employee and/or consultant (Should have worked with Mercy Corps for at least one year). - Experience leading teams, managing performance of supervisees, and coaching/ mentoring staff. - Professional level proficiency in at least one of Mercy Corps’ working languages (English, French, Spanish, Arabic); proficiency in multiple languages is strongly preferred. - For Country Director roles: At least 5 years of senior-level leadership, capacity building and field management experience. - For Country Director roles: Demonstrated success working effectively and respectfully with host country government, private sector, INGO, NGO partners and other stakeholders in complex environments.
