Role Description This position is for an electrical engineer to assist in the design, development, and documentation of electrical systems modifications for C5ISR Systems to include: - Aircraft systems - Tactical and Enterprise Radios - RF communications - Networks and computers Applicant will work with Sr. electrical engineers and engineering manager to understand requirements and translate those requirements into system level installation drawings and wiring harness fabrication drawings. Responsibilities include: - Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial industrial, military, or scientific use. - Responsible for complex and difficult assignments that require expert application of electrical engineering knowledge and analysis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: - Closely coordinate with engineering team members to ensure electrical modifications are captured in their structural modification drawings. - Closely coordinate with avionics technicians to ensure they understand electrical modification installation instructions. - Work independently on designing engineering projects, manufacturing assignments, and C5ISR modification and/or repair assignments. - Meet goals and objectives by providing avionic and electrical systems designs, qualified resources, and training as needed. - Responsible for the systems engineering product of assigned task. - Ensure that appropriate resources and standards are provided to enable engineering support for all assigned projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. - Provides engineering investigation support and technical leadership to maintenance managers and personnel. - Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of organization goals and objectives, configuration and document controls, project scheduling, standards metrics within the department, and product quality. - Interface with all other departments to ensure a cooperative effort. - Assist technicians in clarification and interpretation of installation and harness fabrication drawings. - Support test operations to troubleshoot installation errors. Qualifications - Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of recent and relevant experience within Navy and other DoD organizations in Systems Engineering Support. - At least one year must include supervisory experience. - Electrical Systems Engineer with experience in aircraft systems. - Experience with aircraft 28v DC power distribution systems. - Experience with aircraft 115v AC power systems. - Experience with Aircraft navigation and communications systems. - Experience with Aircraft specific wiring and harness fabrication requirements. - Experience with Solid Edge and Auto CAD 2D drawing programs and can generate wiring schematics with Bill of Materials. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Discipline from a four-year college or university. Desired Requirements - Experience with ISR systems and their implementations on aircraft. - Experience generating reports and analysis in support of electrical system installations. - Ability to troubleshoot faults and create solutions. - Simens Team Center proficiency. - Experience with video distribution systems. - Experience working with SOF C5ISR Systems to include Tactical and Enterprise Radios, RF communications, networks and computers.
