We are seeking a Technical Operations Program Manager (OPM) to lead the manufacturing initiatives for Spectacles Augmented Reality devices. As a Technical OPM, you will be responsible for managing build preparation and execution for our optical engines and our Spectacles product during prototype and mass production phases. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, firmware, manufacturing, program management, and our contract manufacturer, to ensure the successful development and production ramp of the AR Spectacles device. This role requires strong technical expertise in device manufacturing, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes at scale, and the ability to navigate complex supply chain and production challenges. We’re looking for a Technical Operations Program Manager (OPM) to join the Spectacles Operations team at Snap Inc! What you’ll do: - Technical Operations Program Management: Partner with EPMs, Engineering teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to manage the prototype and mass production of optical engines for use in our AR spectacles. Oversee the transition of optical engines and Spectacles product from NPI to high-volume manufacturing site(s). Manage operations to meet delivery plans and key metrics in mass production. - Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with EPM, mechanical, electrical, firmware, test, quality, and program management teams to drive alignment and execution. - Build preparation: Work closely with manufacturing partners and Snap teams to prepare product, materials, processes, and tests for prototype builds and mass production. - Build execution: Work closely with manufacturing partners and Snap teams to execute builds for delivery, quality, and cost. Provide regular reports on progress, status, and metrics. - Partner Management: Work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery targets. - Process Development & Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the manufacturing process, ensuring yield improvements and scalable production solutions. - Risk Mitigation & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify technical and operational risks, implementing mitigation plans to prevent delays and quality issues. - Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze key production metrics, drive continuous improvements, and ensure alignment with overall program goals. - Communication: Provide written and verbal updates to team and leadership on daily or weekly basis. Updates will provide actions, plans, status, and escalations. - Travel: Travel to manufacturing sites as necessary to oversee production, troubleshoot issues, and drive hands-on problem-solving. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Strong knowledge of assembly processes, surface-mount, optical systems, and factory testing methodologies for high-volume production. - Proven experience managing manufacturing partners, including contract manufacturers and component suppliers. - Ability to understand design requirements and translate them into manufacturing processes. - Strong understanding of quality control, yield management, and supply chain logistics in a manufacturing environment. - Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a technical or program management related field. - 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or program management at scale, preferably in consumer electronics. - Ability to travel within Taiwan and to China, Thailand, Malaysia, UK, Germany, and US. Expected travel outside Taiwan up to 30%. Preferred Qualifications: - PM certifications such as PMP - Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies or Six Sigma certification - Proficiency in tools like JIRA, PLM, and supply chain management software.
