Team/ Role Paragraph: As part of the Finance org, the Cyprus Finance function supports our MiFID regulated entity Coinbase Financial Services Europe Ltd (CBFSE), ensuring financial leadership, regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, and strong governance. We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our Finance team in Cyprus. This is a remote-first opportunity. You will oversee critical accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure our financial reporting accurately reflects our rapidly evolving crypto business. What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): - Assist with various areas of the company’s operational accounting, recording daily journals and creating supporting schedules - Preparation of the CBFSE daily reconciliation and other periodic reports, as required. - Assist with preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules - Cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Source-To-Pay teams to ensure proper accounting and financial reporting - Analyze data against business drivers to identify trends / issues - Support CySEC, Central bank of Cyprus and other Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) related regulatory reporting. - Provide support for internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility - Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned - Collaborate on ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role within a CIF and/or a Big Four firm and/or the financial or fintech industry. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CPA are preferred. - CySEC certifications (e.g. Advanced and/or AML Certificate) are preferred. - Strong knowledge and practical experience in IFRS. - Experience working in Netsuite, FloQast and G-Suite. - Possess excellent analytical skills (Excel spreadsheet), business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills. - Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Strong work ethic and team player. - AI Requirements: Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human‑in‑the‑loop practices to deliver business‑ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
