Controls Analyst Job Description The Controls Analyst provides detailed, bottoms-up cost and schedule analysis for complex government programs, including space and missile systems and similar large-scale initiatives. This role builds and maintains project-based financial systems, supports programmatic and financial reporting, and collaborates closely with program teams and corporate finance functions to ensure accurate forecasting, profitability analysis, and compliance with organizational requirements. Responsibilities - Provide bottoms-up cost and schedule analysis for program activities, including acquisition and program planning, program cost analyses, financial management, and other tasks related to government programs, space and missile systems, or similar complex programs. - Develop, maintain, and improve project-based financial systems, including Estimates at Completion (EACs), forward planning projections, and profitability analyses. - Interface with multiple program teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure accurate and timely financial inputs to program and corporate systems. - Support both customer-facing and internal programmatic and financial reporting, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with contractual and organizational requirements. - Collaborate with finance functions such as Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable to support both program-level and corporate financial requirements. - Apply cost estimating, cost modeling, cost analysis, program analysis, program management, scheduling, and related cost, schedule, and technical analysis to support decision-making. - Collect, validate, and organize data for the cost estimation process with persistence and attention to detail. - Use Excel and Deltek Costpoint (or similar large ERP systems) to prepare, analyze, and present financial data and reports. - Contribute to the analysis and estimation of space technologies, where applicable, to support program planning and budgeting.
