Principal Systems Engineer – Product Owner

INNOVIM

• Oversee daily activities of the Data Access Services team to include triage and prioritization of user support requests, sustainment activities, and new development efforts. • Identify opportunities to improve sustainability and scalability of service offerings and coordinate team members to develop operational solutions. • Implement team processes to improve customer satisfaction, transparency, and accountability. • Ensure accurate and timely completion of recurring system maintenance activities. • Promote product goals and activities with the relevant user community while also translating and prioritizing user requests into new features and functionality. • Orchestrate feature development and operations team efforts through the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) sprint and agile processes, including coordination with other teams and release trains as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical majors such as Computer Science, Engineering, Geoscience or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in software/systems engineering and/or team lead roles
  • 5 years managing technical software development teams with demonstrated ability to effectively move features from ideas to production.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with geospatial scientific datasets and open source tools for reading, visualizing and processing standards-based data formats (NetCDF, HDF, GeoTIFF, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AWS services and agile software development tools such as Git and Docker
  • Energetic, self-motivated, team player that is comfortable using collaboration and open communications to build consensus around ideas and priorities.
