Overview Ragnar Benson, a MasTec Company is in search of a Project Manager to support our passenger and heavy rail construction, mid-to-large size healthcare, higher education and commercial building projects across the United States. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing construction projects from pre-construction to completion, while ensuring the project remains on schedule and within budget. The Project Manager works closely with project executives, operations, and clients to support successful project acquisition and execution in alignment with Ragnar Benson Construction’s standards of quality, safety, and integrity. Travel & Location: You can be based anywhere in the United States. This is a traveling position encompassing work sites across the United States. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. We offer designated per diem in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses during the travel rotation. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. Must be capable of up to 75% travel (e.g. 3 weeks or 15 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Responsibilities - Manage field operations and contract administration including safety, personnel, subcontract scheduling, material and equipment procurement and schedule - Safety planning will play a critical role in all planning and field operations activities - Contract management from the standpoint of identifying potential change orders, changes in scope, changes in field conditions, changes in ability to perform as bid with means and methods - Creating and managing budgets - Managing Subcontractor and Vendor relationships including identifying and mitigating potential risk exposure and cost overrun exposure - Responsible for planning applicable equipment types, personnel skill sets, means, methods, and updating schedule - Maintain accurate cost accounting, accurate schedule impacts, accurate and fully authorized change order logs, and accurate and updated communication logs - Submit monthly cost to complete projections - Manage the contract value amount as it is affected by weather, changed conditions, authorized change orders, pending change orders, and accurate quantities completed - Weekly quantities completed accurately reported and compiled in Viewpoint - Budget changes completed accurately on a weekly basis - All change orders agreed and signed and reconciled every 30 days upstream to the customer and downstream to vendors and subcontractors - Change order log updated to verify current contract amount - Purchase order committed costs accurately tracked and recorded - Other duties as assigned Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Construction Management or related major. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. - Minimum 5 years of construction industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management. - Previous experience with mid to large scale construction projects - Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical construction. Specifically heavy industrial piping and equipment, and conveyance systems. Key Responsibilities: Project Management - Lead full‑cycle software implementation projects from initiation through go‑live and project acceptance - Manage project scope, schedules, forecasts, risks, dependencies, and change control - Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders - Develop and maintain detailed project plans and delivery forecasts - Deliver clear, proactive status reporting to customers and leadership - Forecast project delivery timelines and financials every month, quarter and year for all assigned projects.
