We are actively seeking a Product Owner, North America SAP. This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the U.S. Position Summary The Product Owner for North America SAP is responsible for managing the tax and regulatory requirements for the United States and Canada within the SAP Payroll, Finance, and Global Trade Services (ECC S4/HANA on-prem) product modules. This role involves direct communication with clients and stakeholders, effective management and prioritization of the product backlog, and close collaboration with the scrum team to ensure timely and valuable client updates. These updates are critical for maintaining compliance with current legislation. This position provides in-depth product expertise regarding the latest tax and regulatory changes. The Product Owner produces user stories and contributes to the design and testing strategies for the scrum team, all within an Agile environment. The role is accountable for tracking each tax and regulatory change from its discovery through to the successful implementation in the application. Delivering high-quality, compliant updates is essential for supporting clients’ mission-critical enterprise applications. The Product Owner reports directly to the Sr. Director, Business Solutions North America. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Lead, manage, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, business partners, and stakeholders for assigned products. - Close coordination with the North America SAP (Payroll Finance, and Global Trade Services) teams, the US Payroll Rimini Street, Inc. Tax Engine (RSITE ™) team, and other North America product line teams to ensure consistent and timely deliveries for our clients. This role - Lead SAP North America Scrum teams to ensure full product compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations. This includes analyzing each tax and legislative change, producing detailed user stories and designs that outline the impact on specific SAP modules, and assessing the overall process implications. - Maintain comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll from both a business and end-to-end process perspective. - Mentor other business analysts and coordinate business analysis activities within their region and area of expertise. - Organize and communicate information clearly, enabling teams and subscribing clients to implement necessary system changes. - Assist the Business Solutions, Development and QA Management teams with planning activities related to product-specific tax and regulatory updates, including release scheduling, planning, and tracking. - Work with Support Management to help resolve client case issues, from troubleshooting and prioritization to team engagement and resolution. Ensure that proper retrospective and corrective action processes are followed to promote defect reduction and ISO audit process adherence. - Work within the Rimini Street Agile framework, participate in scrum ceremonies, and respond to feedback from the Scrum Master and scrum team members. - Create and communicate the product vision to the team and stakeholders. - Understand stakeholder needs, maintain regular communication, and facilitate feedback opportunities. - Keep stakeholders informed through meaningful sprint reviews and regularly updated product roadmaps for a forward-looking perspective. - Assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure efforts focus on the highest value work aligned with product strategy. - Be accountable for product delivery, communicate product needs to business partners, and ensure outcomes align with the product model. - Build strong working relationships with teams and stakeholders. - Deliver client-facing end user documentation that contains appropriate content and details on system business process impacts, ready for use by sales and marketing teams. - Create or support the development of client educational materials, presentations, webinars, and other communications using various tools and channels. Education and Experience - Extensive experience in SAP ECC S4/HANA on-prem US HR/Payroll (15+ years). SAP Canada HR/Payroll and US/Canada Finance experience is a plus. - Certified Payroll Professional or equivalent is preferred. Skills - Strong leadership skills. - Excellent analytical and judgment skills. - Ability to work independently while keeping management informed. - Effective communication of Rimini Street methods and processes to clients, including executive-level stakeholders. - Extensive experience in SAP HCM ECC S4/HANA on-prem US HR/Payroll PY/PA/OM (15+ years). - Deep understanding of how US/Canada payroll legislation impacts payroll systems and ensuring solutions work for all clients. - Knowledge of current payroll and human resource legislation. - Experience in product ownership within an Agile environment is preferred. - Ability to collaborate with the Global Tax & Regulatory team for accurate knowledge transfer regarding tax and regulatory changes. - Work closely with development to ensure adherence to acceptance criteria and with QA to develop high-level test plans and strategies. - Team player.
