The Opportunity At BetterSleep, we're on a mission to help the world sleep better. With over 85 million downloads, we're one of the most trusted wellness apps globally, helping millions of people fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up feeling restored. We're at an inflection point. We're transforming from a content-driven sleep app into a connected sleep-health platform, where design, personalization, and behavioral science come together to create meaningful change in how people experience sleep. That means the core app experience, the thing you'd be designing, is the foundation everything else is being built on. Our team is lean, high-conviction, and moves fast. We run continuous experimentation across onboarding, subscription pricing, and content. We're building clinical screening flows, partnering with sleep specialists, and rethinking what a wellness app can do when it's backed by real science and real data. The design challenges here are not cosmetic. They're structural, behavioral, and directly tied to business outcomes. We're backed by BetterHelp and Teladoc, which gives us the resources of a public company. But we operate with startup-level ownership and speed. You won't be pushing pixels through an approval chain. You'll be shaping how millions of people interact with their sleep, every night. What are we looking for? BetterSleep is looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the design of the Core App experience. This person is passionate about creating seamless, high-impact user experiences by combining strong product intuition with insights from data, experimentation, and user behavior. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and an effective communicator with a strong sense of craft across interaction design, visual design, and UX writing. This role is highly strategic and execution-focused. You will design the foundational experiences that shape how users discover value, build habits, and convert into long-term subscribers. You should be excited by the opportunity to work on personalization, feature adoption, connected care pathways, and the overall structure of the product experience. Responsibilities - Lead the design vision for BetterSleep’s core app experience in close partnership with Product and Engineering, and advocate for the user throughout the product development process - Design high-quality end-to-end user experiences that deliver a consistent, intuitive, and emotionally resonant experience across the customer journey - Own and evolve key product surfaces including core navigation, feature discovery and engagement, clinical screening and referral flows that feel seamless within the consumer app experience, and other critical moments that drive activation, trial-to-paid conversion, and retention - Craft and direct UX copy and microcopy across the product experience, including feature titling, education, and navigation, ensuring alignment with BetterSleep’s brand voice - Design for localization (text expansion, RTL considerations, etc.) to address the 6+ languages supported within the app - Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, and other Designers to solve user problems, navigate technical constraints, and scale product experiences effectively - Leverage internal data, experimentation results, and your understanding of human behavior to identify opportunities for improving conversion, retention, and engagement - Design for personalization and adaptive experiences, helping shape user flows that respond to individual needs, sleep goals, behaviors, and future AI-driven product capabilities - Participate in user research and competitive analysis to inform product direction and ensure a best-in-class mobile experience - Actively participate in agile processes and ceremonies - Make recommendations to management on process and tooling improvements - Ensure compliance with Android and Apple platform guidelines, stay current on new developments, and inform the team of relevant updates - Build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate complex ideas, goals, and design rationale clearly and effectively - Mentor and guide other designers

• Take real ownership, from scrappy sketches to polished prototypes to shipped features. And then you’ll measure, learn, and do it again. • Be the Design Lead within a tight product trio (Product + Engineering + You). You won’t just “make the mockups”; you’ll shape what we build and why. • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Product to simplify workflows, remove friction, and make our platform feel effortless. • Partner with developers throughout the build process so what ships is high-quality, intentional, and true to the design. • Help evolve and maintain our Design System, not as a static library, but as a living foundation for speed and consistency. • Run usability tests, talk to real humans, and push for insights that meaningfully improve the work. • Collaborate with Product on research plans, interviews, synthesis, the whole loop. • Look beyond tickets. Spot opportunities, challenge assumptions, and help shape the product strategy.
