• The Finance Analyst is responsible for assisting in preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial planning and analysis. • Assists in the preparation of forecasts and analysis of trends. • Assists in financial forecasting, reporting, and reconciliation of internal accounts. • Compiles, verifies, and analyzes financial information so Senior Management has accurate and timely information to make strategic and operational decisions. • Serves as a liaison among Finance Directors and Accounting Dept on fiscal related concerns when balancing grants/ budgets. • Supports the Annual Federal Budget Process: preparation of workpapers, schedules, narratives, and budget submission. • Conducts reconciliation of Budget to Actuals reports, Trial Balance reports, and PMS Cash reports in preparation of federal filing submissions. • Prepares and incorporates all Budget imports into accounting software. • Compiles work papers that are utilized for Reforecasts and Budgeting cycles. • Conducts quarterly Non-Federal Share reviews with Finance Directors and communicates deficits to corresponding parties. • Prepares Non-Federal Share waivers and One Time Funding requests as required. • Maintains and assists with departmental databases utilized by internal partners (i.e., VenaVENA, Tableau, etc.). • Works directly with consultants / vendors on report design as needed. • Works on moderately complex financial modeling. • Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Finance, Accounting or Financial Planning and Analysis experience; or similar function with analytical responsibilities.
- Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
- Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
- Exhibit Project management skills.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills, especially using Google Suite apps, spreadsheets, basic data management systems and internet navigation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Vlookups, formulas, pivot tables; comfortable using large data sets and translating into Financial Models/Analysis.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Must be honest, dependable, and able to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
