Operations and Maintenance Technician – Azure Landing Zone, Azure Virtual Desktop

AIS (Applied Information Sciences)

• Support the ongoing operation and maintenance of Azure Landing Zone components, including management groups, subscriptions, policies, role-based access controls, and networking constructs. • Monitor platform health, configuration compliance, and resource performance across Azure environments. • Assist with administration of core Azure infrastructure services such as virtual networks, network security groups, route tables, storage accounts, key vaults, backup, monitoring, and resource locks. • Perform routine operational tasks including validation checks, configuration updates, patch coordination, log review, and issue remediation. • Support enforcement of governance and security controls through Azure Policy, tagging standards, and operational guardrails. • Assist in incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for Azure platform-related issues. • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, asset inventories, and support procedures for Azure infrastructure services. • Provide day-to-day support for Azure Virtual Desktop host pools, session hosts, application groups, workspaces, FSLogix profiles, and user access configurations. • Monitor AVD service health, user session performance, host availability, and capacity utilization. • Troubleshoot user connectivity issues, session reliability problems, login delays, profile container issues, and application delivery concerns. • Support integration and operational coordination with identity, networking, storage, and endpoint management teams as required for AVD service delivery. • Help maintain secure and stable end-user virtual desktop environments in accordance with organizational standards. • Participate in testing and validation of AVD changes, updates, and operational improvements prior to production implementation. • Respond to incidents, service requests, and operational alerts within defined service levels. • Participate in troubleshooting bridge calls and support escalations involving Azure infrastructure and AVD services. • Execute approved changes in accordance with change management procedures and maintenance windows. • Identify recurring issues and contribute to problem management and continuous service improvement efforts. • Coordinate with engineering, architecture, security, and service desk teams to resolve cross-functional issues. • Provide after-action documentation and operational reporting as needed.

Job Requirements

  • 3–6 years of IT infrastructure, cloud operations, or end-user computing support experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate and Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
  • Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure in an operational environment.
  • Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop or other enterprise virtual desktop technologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure core services such as virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring, identity integration, and backup/recovery.
  • Working knowledge of Azure governance concepts including subscriptions, RBAC, policies, and resource organization.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and service health dashboards.
  • Understanding of incident, problem, and change management practices in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Ability to follow operational runbooks and standard operating procedures while exercising sound technical judgment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • US Citizenship required.
