UAV/Robotics Engineer

In terms of industry verticals, we are focused on EdTech, Fintech, eCommerce, and Pharma. We are looking for a UAV/Robotics Engineer to join a non-commercial, EU-funded research project focused on developing drone and robotic systems for reconnaissance and demining operations at sea.This is a full-time position in Ukraine (with possible business trips to other cities and countries and training grounds). The project duration is 1.5 years, with extensive opportunities for hands-on prototyping, field testing, and real-world deployment. This role will suit enthusiastic engineers — not necessarily Senior-level — who are eager to learn, experiment, and take part in both software/hardware development and practical assembly & field testing of drones. Final-year university students with relevant experience are also welcome to apply. Requirements - Experience in developing drone systems and robotic platforms from concept to implementation - Knowledge of UAV/USV hardware, sensors, autopilot missions, and control algorithms (e.g., MAVLink, Ardupilot) - Skills in prototyping and electronics troubleshooting, with the ability to solve problems on-site - Understanding of wireless communication protocols and network solutions - Technical leadership experience and teamwork skills - Collaboration and communication with project stakeholders - Attention to detail, practical approach, and focus on reliable results - Understanding of AI/ML principles for perception and decision-making solutions - Familiarity with navigation principles (GNSS, ToF, etc.) Responsibilities - Develop software and hardware for UAV/USV systems from concept to working prototypes - Assemble and test drones, participate in field training at test sites, and military polygons - Ensure perimeter demining and reconnaissance support using AI and drone technologies - Troubleshoot and prototype electronics, ensuring robustness of systems in real-world conditions - Collaborate with project beneficiaries and research partners - Contribute to knowledge-sharing and support within the engineering team Our transparent recruitment journey usually takes up to 2 weeks and includes a few stages: - Recruiting Interview -> 30-45 min - Technical Interview -> 1-1,5h - Client Interview (optional) -> up to 1h - Pre-Offer Call -> 15min - Reference Check - Offer We offer: - Competitive salary, room for development and growth. - Possibility to work in the Bratislava and Kyiv offices or fully remotely. - Loyal management, interesting tasks, constant support. - Medical insurance (optional). - English courses. - Technical equipment providing. - Paid vacations 20 workdays, paid sick leave, regular salary reviews; - Flexible schedule and ability to manage your working hours; - Support your personal growth and skills upgrading. - The great environment inside the team, support of initiatives, and ability to contribute to the common goal.
