Job Title: Catastrophic Injury Team Leader Responsible to: Operations Manager Level: Team Leader A senior role within a specialist Serious Injury practice Minster Law is a personal injury law firm with an established and expanding Serious Injury practice operating across England and Wales, acting exclusively for claimants in complex, high-value cases. This Catastrophic Injury Team Leader role is intended for experienced Serious Injury solicitors operating at a senior level who are looking to practise within a business structured to support high-quality Serious Injury work. Team sizes are structured to allow sustained senior focus on complex claims, ensuring sufficient time and autonomy to work effectively with clients, families, and specialist teams over the life of the claim. Our practice operates to a well-established multi-disciplinary model, integrating legal expertise with rehabilitation planning and wider clinical and professional input to support the effective management of complex Serious Injury claims. Technical Leads, alongside their Associates, are trusted to lead case strategy throughout the lifecycle of the claim, exercising professional judgement within a collaborative environment. The opportunity As an Catastrophic Team Leader in our Serious Injury team, you will: · Lead a group of Associates who handle complex Serious Injury claims, predominantly RTA-based, typically valued over multi-million-pound outcomes. · Alongside your team ,take responsibility for case strategy throughout the lifecycle of the claim, including liability, quantum, rehabilitation planning and settlement. · Provide guidance, oversight and peer support to your team ensuring outcomes for clients and the business are achieved. · Lead with integrity, be respectful of all colleague opinions Essential experience and qualifications To ensure the appropriate level of expertise, applicants must demonstrate: · Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX with right to litigate with over 8+ Years PQE. · A proven track record as a senior fee earners on Serious Injury matters achieving outcomes of over £3m · A consistent record of high-quality client care. · Experience supporting, mentoring or developing colleagues. · Experience of conducting 1-2-1’s / personal development plans / performance reviews at a senior colleague level · The professional credibility to represent the firm externally within the Serious Injury sector. Role Description The Staff Attorney provides legal advice and counsel to the business on a variety of legal issues, prepares, negotiates, drafts and dockets contracts while also assisting on contract extensions, terminations, renewals, BAAs, all as directed by the VP of Legal. Duties & Responsibilities - Effectively drafts, reviews, negotiates and revises complex software license, equipment and services agreements, vendor agreements and other corporate contractual documents and related addenda and amendments such as renewal agreements and terminations. - Ensures compliance with symplr’s financial policies (including revenue recognition), evaluates pertinent business and financial requirements and integrates complex negotiated terms leading to the establishment of appropriate deal terms and conditions. - Directs sales in obtaining any necessary approval(s) for non-standard contractual requests made by customers. - Monitors the approval(s) from the appropriate subject matter experts and releases agreement when all approvals are received. - Develops and maintains a deep understanding of symplr’s day-to-day functions, products and services. - Determines whether contract requests which vary from the established standards can be accepted or require additional authorization. - Assists the Contract Administration and legal teams in advising management on federal and state regulatory compliance issues, such as HIPAA, as directed. - Assists in developing policies on industry-specific issues, as directed. - Dockets agreements, amendments or addenda in the contract management system per department policy. - Responds to field requests for assistance with RFP/RFI/RFQs. - Conducts legal research as requested. - Develops and maintains positive business and contractual relationships with internal and external clients, vendors, suppliers and consultants. - Serves as backup to Contract Administrator in performing work including, but not limited to, creating first drafts of contractual documents, taking customer service calls, handling term extensions, renewals, terminations and as otherwise directed. - Promotes effective communication at all levels within the Department. - Spots potential legal issues within the organization and brings them to the attention of the VP of Legal. - Acts as a business partner by applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention. - Supports internal teams in the resolution of customer disputes and in responding to breach notifications. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Must possess a Juris Doctor law degree from an accredited law school in the United States. - Be licensed to practice law in a state in the United States, be a member of a state bar, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. - One to three years of professional experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department with a focus on corporate law, contract law, transactional/M&A law, healthcare law or an area of law with regulations, or a corporate legal department, preferably of a technology company, or equivalent experience. - Familiarity with the use of AI and agents, including how they can be leveraged to streamline workflows, enhance decision-making, improve user experiences, and support operational efficiency across a variety of tasks and tools. - Familiarity with or a desire to learn legal operations, including contract management, intake workflows, and automation is a plus.
