• Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and general ledger maintenance. • Support the monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP and YMCA financial standards. • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules. • Assist with fixed asset tracking, depreciation schedules, and capital project accounting. • Prepare internal financial reports, variance analyses, and departmental summaries for review by the CFO. • Maintain organized financial records to support transparency and audit readiness. • Help implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard Frost Valley YMCA’s assets. • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and YMCA policies. • Support the annual audit process, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. • Assist in the development of the annual operating and capital budgets. • Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, ideally including nonprofit or fund accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control principles.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; familiarity with Blackbaud or similar nonprofit platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
