Technical Service Engineer

• Serve as the frontline point of contact for day-to-day customer needs. • Conduct paper machine audits, service calls in close cooperation with local Application Sales Engineers (ASE). • Communicates customer activity, sales opportunities, & competitive intel to the ASE & Regional Sales Manager (RSM). • Provides assistance & guidance with machine clothing installations, developing supervisory & advisory capabilities. • Take ownership of a specified territory and devise strategies to meet sales objectives. • Makes in mill repairs of machine clothing to allow product to remain in operation. • Develop strong inter-reliant relationships with customers through quality on-site support and social interaction. • Mitigates warranty exposure through early detection and prevention of potential problems. • Assists paper mills to set up proper records and complete value results platforms. • Build & maintain comprehensive databases on customer paper machine clothing. • Manage an expense budget within the guidelines provided. • Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
- Candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in industrial environments are encouraged to apply, regardless of formal education.
- Military background with relevant technical training and leadership experience is highly valued.
- Prior experience in customer service roles within manufacturing or factory operations is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with papermaking processes, industrial equipment, or technical sales support is a plus.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing role with a focus on problem-solving and operational improvement.
- Requires strong computer skills, including a strong understanding of Word, Excel, Power BI, and general database management.
