Legal Counsel – Healthcare

• Provide strategic legal advice on operational and regulatory issues affecting Humana’s Home Solutions business, including CenterWell Home Health. • Advise operations teams on matters related to patient safety, quality of care, and governmental inquiries. • Collaborate with internal teams, including Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management, to address complex issues and ensure alignment across departments. • Conduct risk assessments, analyze potential impacts, and develop mitigation strategies to support business decisions and initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing health care law within a law firm or in-house legal department of a health care organization.
- Proven experience advising health care providers on foundational health care legal matters, including at least one of the following areas: patient care issues and surveys; fraud, waste, and abuse; state licensing and Medicare/Medicaid enrollment; health care-related contracting; or health care mergers and acquisitions.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal concepts and analyses clearly, concisely, and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience navigating complex organizational structures and effectively engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
- Proven ability to work independently with general guidance, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
