Workstate is hiring a Senior Data Scientist! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Scientist to join our client's data science team. In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis to solve complex problems and drive strategic and product-facing decisions across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders and engineers to uncover insights and develop cutting-edge, data-driven solutions that directly influence strategic planning, resource allocation, and product development. Residents of Colombia or Argentina with the right to work in that country are eligible for this role. Responsibilities - Deeply understand business needs and translate business needs to a technical project. - Identify appropriate data sources to use. Perform data aggregations and feature engineering as needed. - Write Python programming code to make visualizations, build and implement models. - Be flexible and open to innovative ideas and alternative ways of solving problems. - Present the results to non-tech partners and influence them to use predictive models. - Develop, validate, and deploy advanced machine learning models to predict business outcomes and inform strategic and operational decisions. - Build and evaluate predictive models used in production systems, including real-time scoring and model-driven product workflows. - Assess model impact via A/B testing and other experimental methods to optimize business outcomes. - Stay abreast of industry best practices and state-of-the-art methodology in data science.
Job Requirements
- The ideal candidate will typically have 5-7 years of professional experience and have demonstrated many of the following skills:
- Master or Ph.D’s degree in Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages.
- In-depth understanding of statistical knowledge and machine learning algorithms.
- Specifically, expertise with the following techniques is a must-have to perform daily work: K-Means, Linear Regression and GLM, Random Forest, GBM, XGBoost, various segmentation techniques etc.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work on large-scale cross functional projects.
- 2+ years of experience in data science with a proven track record of delivering successful, end-to-end data science projects is a plus.
