Senior Project Manager

Sourcewell

• Partner with Operations management and organizational leaders to deliver operational projects on time and on budget. • Manage the end-to-end management of operational medium and large projects and ensure project scope, schedule, budget, resources, change management, and overall quality of project delivery. • Guide project sponsor and stakeholders across all phases of the project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, risk mitigation, monitoring and control, and closure. • Identify and structure work streams for projects and initiatives, work with project team to organize solution roadmaps and reach critical milestones. • Collaborate with Operations focused teams and appropriate stakeholders to mitigate risks and proactively support planned and/or unplanned needs. • Manage ongoing deliverables and determine appropriate priority of day-to-day tasks. • Communicate and present information effectively to a wide variety of audiences. • Develop and manage Operations improvement opportunities utilizing established methodologies for optimizing time and efficiency of project teams and operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND a minimum of four (4) years experience managing medium to large organizational projects OR A combination of related post-secondary and/or professional education and demonstrated relevant work experience managing technical or complex organizational projects equivalent to a total of eight (8) years.
  • Strong business process/operational knowledge (e.g., customer service, human resources, finance)
  • Meeting facilitation and presentation experience
  • PMP or CAPM certification (preferred)
  • Continuous improvement experience (lean/six sigma) (preferred)
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (preferred)
  • Experience and certification in Change Management (preferred)

The Regional Commissioning Manager provides direction and develops team members to ensure the delivery of projects on time and on budget. The Regional Commissioning Manager leads others positively exemplifying BGIS values. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES People Management - Guide development of individual goals for team members and complete performance reviews for direct reports. - Provide supervision, mentorship, and motivation to assigned team members. - Support sales team by attending meetings, presentations, or providing commissioning information/examples when requested. - Work with senior leadership and human resources to maintain staffing level targets. - Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned. Project Management - Develop, manage, and implement commissioning and existing building commissioning procedures for internal company and external customers. - Define labor plan, equipment requirements, set milestones and provide accounting documentation. - Perform Project Lead responsibilities on selected projects including owner direct negotiated commissioning and existing building commissioning projects. - Maintain overview of commissioning backlog and labor requirements. - Work with senior commissioning engineers, commissioning engineers and leads to develop specific commissioning teams for all projects. - Assist with issue resolution for any project when deemed appropriate. - Ensure backlog and estimate are complete, updated, and distributed to Senior Commissioning Engineers, Commissioning Engineers and Leads. - Provide budgets and scopes for all projects. - Review projects progress estimates to complete, margin enhancement opportunities, issue logs and lost time with Senior Commissioning Engineers, Commissioning Engineers and Leads. Business Development - Develop new commissioning offerings or services as needed. - Provide operational and sales support to the development of new business opportunities and be integral in the successful delivery of these projects. - Manage department assets including quantities, quality, calibration, security, training, and assignments. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS - 7 years of industry experience in either electrical power distribution or mechanical systems or both. AA degree, military training, or equivalent work experience. - Minimum of four years management experience. - Ten years of experience in commissioning services. - Demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Program Manager. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to communicate company vision and goals and motivate team. - PE registration preferred. - BCA CCP or ACG CxA, QCxP registration preferred. - LEED AP preferred. - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT - Ability and willingness to travel. - Current valid driver’s license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.
