Job Description The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in Turnitin’s EMEA Accounting Team who have the responsibility to provide internal and external financial reporting for EMEA entities. Internal reporting includes management reporting as part of the month end close, where this role will have exposure to all expenses. External reporting includes the year end reporting, where this role will be a key contact for any audits and financial statement preparation. The Senior Accountant will be expected to contribute to driving continued process improvements to help strengthen internal controls and increase efficiencies. The Accounting team work closely with other teams in the Turnitin Financial team, including the Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounts Payable, Order To Cash, Tax, and Payroll teams. This position will report directly to the EMEA Accounting Manager. JOB REQ COMPENSATION RANGE $83,000 - $138,000The base salary range for this role is shown above. In the absence of the Financial Accountant, he/she will have to ensure 100% management of the roles of the Financial Accountant without any flaws. Duties and responsibilities: - The Assistant Accountant is responsible for entering accurate entries of all monthly cash transactions on the working sheet. - The Assistant Accountant is responsible for the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of the company's day-to-day financial and accounting operations as well as regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) and year-end. - Prepare and reconcile all work advances timely and accurately. - Undertaking stock counts and produce accurate monthly fuel, lubricants, spares usage reports and stock quarterly reports. - Preparation of monthly payroll inputs and reconciliation of salary advances. - Ensure monthly transactions are properly filed and complete. - Maintain adequate monthly cashflow. - Timely preparation and submission of statutory returns (NHIMA, Napsa, PAYE, WHT, workers compensation, personal levy etc). - Ensuring that transactions are accurately set on the Bank for approval. - Ensure that transactions are captured accurately in Serenic. - Ensure that they understand, interpret and monitor the budget. - Assist the team with any additional work.
