Location: Remote - OhioDepartment: Pharmacy AdminWeekly Hours: 40Status: Full timeShift: Days (United States of America) Job Summary: Informatics Pharmacist Specialist works in the build, implementation, and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication‐use process. Specializes in the medication process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of the Electronic Medical Record and Clinical Decision Support. Supports pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as the resource for requests related to EMR and pharmacy system changes and additions. Provides EMR‐related staff education/training and assist with precepting of pharmacy residents. - Leverage pharmacist expertise to ensure pharmacy technology solutions are clinically sound, workflow‑aligned, and optimized for safe, effective patient care. - Serve as a clinical liaison, translating technical, clinical, and operational requirements into functional system designs. - Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and IT teams to ensure new workflows and technologies integrate seamlessly into patient care processes. - Serve as an internal and external liaison for the goals and vision of the Pharmacy Department. - Coordinates technical system changes with informatics, pharmacy, and IT team members. - dentify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve medication management and informatics processes. - Develop and maintain internal procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Epic, pharmacy automation, and systems governance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy Skills: - Strong leadership and organizational skills. - Detail oriented to understand clinical and/or operational workflows and how Epic may be configured to meet these needs. - Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences. - Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, and technical teams. - Strong understanding of medication‑use workflows, automation technologies, and integration between pharmacy systems and the EHR. - Strong knowledge of medication‑use processes, automation technologies, and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner). - Ability to communicate clinical concepts to technical team and system design concepts to end users. - Ability to effectively validate and support clinical applications. Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience pharmacy informatics/Epic Pharmacy Analyst, 5+ years pharmacy practice, drug information or pharmacy administration. License: Active pharmacist license in Ohio or Michigan. State required license must be obtained within one year of hire. Certification: Epic pharmacy certification in primary application, e.g., Willow Inpatient, Willow Ambulatory, Willow Inventory, Beacon, Compass Rose for Specialty Pharmacy PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Pharm D Skills: - Prior multi-site or system experience - Project management and leadership experience - Experience with pharmacy billing, 340b, analytics, process development and management Certification: Non-pharmacy related Epic certifications, ASHP Pharmacy Informatics Certificate, ASHP Billing & Reimbursement Certificate, ASHP Pharmacy Revenue Cycle Management Certificate, ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Certificate, ASHP Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Pharmacy Certificate, ASHP Basics of Data Analytics Certificate Work Environment: Primarily remote, office environment, requires flexible hours and on-site presence during project go-lives. Salary Range: $104,000 - $190,008 This is a remote position; however, employment is limited to residents of certain U.S. states due to legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
