Job Description

Lead Partnership Executive

WGU Advancement

• Drive new enterprise partnerships aligned to WGU’s mission and strategic priorities • Lead consultative business development with C-suite leaders and national decision-makers • Design innovative proposals, campaigns, and workforce solutions that address large-scale talent needs • Represent WGU at major industry events, conferences, and partner councils • Coach and guide Account Executives and Senior Account Executives on enterprise sales best practices • Partner closely with Partner Success teams to ensure smooth handoffs and long-term partner outcomes • Contribute to national pipeline strategy, market expansion, and development of new verticals

  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders
  • Deep understanding of workforce development, higher education, and talent ecosystems
  • Proven ability to craft tailored value propositions that deliver measurable ROI
  • Strong commitment to student-centered outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of related experience, or 7 years of related experience with a Master’s degree
  • Prior experience in the higher education sector (Bonus Points)
  • Extensive background in acquisition-focused roles (Bonus Points)
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships with large organizations (1,000+ employees) (Bonus Points)
  • Proven track record in enterprise sales or strategic partnerships across industries (Bonus Points)

  • Experience in Lieu of Education: Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this role may substitute for education requirements. Generally, one year of relevant experience may be considered in place of one year of education, at the discretion of the hiring manager.
