Our India team is growing quickly, we’ve gone from 0 to over 20 engineers in less than a year. We are looking for a technical leader to drive this expansion. As a Senior Engineering Manager you will lead recruit and build a high performing team to contribute to our high scale PostgreSQL and OpenSearch platforms on Kubernetes. This ambitious project will support hundreds of millions of databases around the globe with high availability and performance. Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to scale out our storage team in India. You will be part of a fast growing team building our multi-cloud storage platform on K8s. The ideal candidate would have experience recruiting and building high performing teams. We run one of the largest fleets of PostgreSQL in the world, so expertise in PG is a big plus. We are rapidly expanding our OpenSearch fleet so expertise in managing large scale deployments would be great. What you'll do: - Be responsible for high-quality software delivery, grow individuals and groom leaders on the team and contribute to architecture - Work with leadership and partners to strategize, evolve a roadmap and provide high quality solutions - Identify blockers, goals, success metrics ensuring awareness, OKR/roadmap awareness, and expectations - Manage projects, process, partners and timelines - Manage a growing team of Tech Leads and Software Engineers - Hire a diverse team of engineers from entry level to principal Qualifications Your background: - 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams - Bachelor's or Master's degree with a preference for Computer Science degree - Expertise with one or more prominent languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Scala is required. - Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands-on experience with public cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) - Knowledge to evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, space and time If you've got these skills, even better: - Proficiency in K8s and Cloud Native technologies - Experience building and operating world-scale storage and telemetry systems - Proficiency in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases - Proficiency in OpenSearch or similar distributed search systems Benefits & Perks Atlassian offers a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community.
