Job Summary The Front-End Web Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining user-facing web applications for Ayr Wellness. This role creates responsive, high-quality interfaces that deliver an exceptional user experience across devices and browsers, working closely with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to support the company’s digital presence and internal platforms. Reporting to the Senior Director Business Applications, this role will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance, scalable web applications using the Next.js framework, delivering robust solutions while working closely with our marketing team, designers, and developers. Duties and Responsibilities - Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern front-end technologies - Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, functional, and accessible code - Designing, developing, and managing scalable web applications using the Next.js framework - Implementing and optimizing web performance, SEO, and security features for Next.js applications - Collaborate with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences - Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability - Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness across all supported environments - Troubleshoot and debug issues across multiple environments and devices - Maintain code quality through best practices, peer review, testing, and documentation - Stay current with emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends - Other duties as assigned Qualifications - 5+ years of work experience in a similar position - Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+) - Experience with modern front-end frameworks, including one or more of the following: - React, Angular, Next.js or Vue.js - Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and SEO best practices for web applications - Familiarity with version control systems, including Git - Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility requirements - Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving and debugging skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with effective communication skills - This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future. Education - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, or a related field preferred - Equivalent combination of education and professional experience accepted Experience - 5+ years of professional experience in front-end web development - Demonstrated portfolio of responsive, production-quality web applications Preferred Qualifications - Experience with TypeScript - Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with back-end services - Knowledge of modern build tools such as Webpack or Vite - Experience with front-end testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress - Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) Working Conditions This role operates in a standard office or remote work environment. The position may require occasional collaboration across time zones. Some travel may be required for team meetings or company events.
