Ancestry is seeking an early career associate genealogist who already speaks, reads, and writes advanced or fluent German, and is eager to develop genealogical expertise in the German-speaking world and General US. The candidate will conduct research for projects from start to finish, aligning with client expectations under the supervision of a research manager (RM) for the two geographic and cultural zones. Successful associate genealogists are disciplined, focused, flexible, strong in technology, growth-minded, and detail-oriented. What you will do: - Collaborate with Research Managers to complete tasks and support client goals. - Conduct genealogical research in German-speaking and General US regions using proper methods. - Utilize advanced German skills for research and client communications. - Create and maintain research trees, journals, and accurate citations. - Write clear, client-facing research reports with minimal supervision. - Manage tasks to meet deadlines, billable hour goals, and provide timely updates. Who you are: - Fluent or advanced German speaker (reading, writing, speaking). - Early career genealogist eager to specialize in Germanic and US research. - Detail-oriented with strong analytical evaluation skills. - Skilled writer of client updates and research documentation. - Effective time/project manager able to work independently. - Communicative and collaborative in remote or office settings, eager to learn. As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, we are pleased to share the base salary range for this position:$20.18 to $25.23 per hour, with eligibility for bonus, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision. Actual salary will depend on location and experience. To function as the primary client liaison and lead for assigned programs. Negotiates critical program components based on knowledge of client requirements from initial request through contract completion and turnover; this includes recommending supplier and destinations options and solutions.
