The aspects of build in the software delivery lifecycle are owned and executed by engineers in DSE. This division has a skilled pool of data and software engineers that may work with various businesses in Shell helping them realize their digital ambitions. The delivery ownership entails building the right product, with quality adhering to the engineering standards in the IDT control framework. A Senior Software Engineer must be able to own and deliver work under guidance. They may work in natural teams with members from across divisions in Shell IDT. Working together in teams, they collaborate to achieve delivery of software products/applications while adhering to engineering standards. They must keep abreast of latest technologies/practices in software engineering. Accountabilities: - Provides excellence and assurance for entire development team - Setting and enforcing standards, patterns and practices - Visible and active community leader in the DSE family, including participation & presentation into the respective CoP’s - Natural technology leader, ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries, both internal and external to DSE - Has an external hat on, knows & adopts industry best practices What you bring - Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - 7+ years of corporate IT experience - Understand the core concepts of software engineering, including understanding the requirements, fundamental elements of software design, software construction, developer testing, and configuration management - Familiar with configuration management and have working experience with at least one source control system (GitHub preferred). - Knowledge of continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automating these workflows - Familiar with building software for accessibility and the fundamentals of building a secure application - Understand Agile ways of working; knowledge of Scrum / Kanban is preferred - Demonstrate an understanding of work management (Azure DevOps preferred), including working with product backlog items and bugs - Understanding of cloud computing and diverse options for hosting applications (MS Azure preferred) - Awareness of AI/ML is preferred - Skilled in working with datastores, understanding schema, security, and privacy - Effective communication skills to put one’s point across clearly. - Able to work collaboratively in teams - Ability to plan and execute work under guidance - Adhere to Shell’s code of conduct and exhibit values of respect and embracing diversity in the workplace Note: This role is a virtual position based in the US What we offer The base salary range for this position is $124,000 - $186,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity. For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
