Mission We make machines talk to machines so humans can spend their time with other humans. Today, people spend an enormous amount of time navigating software - portals, voice-bot trees, and systems that were not designed to work together. We are building agents that handle these machine-to-machine conversations and workflows, freeing people to focus on work that requires a human touch. Applied first to healthcare operations where humans are drowning in software. About The Role We’re building the next generation of agentic AI systems that can reason, act, and operate reliably in messy, real-world environments — across chat, voice, and full computer-use interfaces. As a Founding Engineer – Applied ML, you’ll help architect and ship the core intelligence powering our agents: reasoning systems, grounding, planning, memory, evals, and reliability. This is a deeply technical role with massive ownership — ideal for someone who wants to push the frontier of practical AI while shipping real product used by real customers. What You’ll Do - Design and implement agentic reasoning systems for real production workflows - Build robust tool orchestration, planning, and grounding frameworks - Develop context, memory, and state management for long-horizon tasks - Create evaluation and reliability frameworks that measure correctness and performance - Work across chat, voice, and UI computer-use agents to make them coordinated and dependable - Translate research concepts into practical, production-ready systems - Partner closely with founders and customers to iterate quickly and ship - Help shape company culture, technical standards, and early engineering practices What You’ll Bring - 5+ years of software engineering experience - 2+ years building and shipping LLM or agentic systems in production - Experience with eval frameworks, memory, retrieval, and grounding architectures - Comfort working across ambiguous, open-ended technical problems - A bias toward building systems that are reliable, measurable, and testable - Strong product intuition — you care about real users and real outcomes - Excellent communication and collaboration skills Bonus Experience - Model fine-tuning and RL techniques - Multimodal agents (voice, CUA) - Experience building in healthcare or other regulated enterprise domains What We Offer - Founding-level work ownership - Competitive compensation, with meaningful equity - The ability to work directly with founders and customers, move fast, and ship real, production-grade agent systems into high-stakes environments - We’re based in San Francisco and work best together in person. That said, we’re flexible for exceptional remote candidates and provide visa sponsorship.

About the Team: - The Advanced Analytics team helps TRM’s customers to have the most reliable and impactful data and insights. The team builds the data foundation and Analytics products for TRM’s insights and investigative capabilities. We develop high-leverage datasets, metrics, and insights used by internal teams and customers to combat fraud, hacks, and illicit activity on the blockchain. - We’re a distributed team with a collaborative and inclusive culture.
