Salary Range - £32,000 - £36,000 A Junior Test Engineer supports the delivery of high quality software by helping to uncover and communicate information about a product’s quality. They apply testing techniques, heuristics, and tools under guidance, learning how to assess software against functional and non functional quality criteria. They develop an understanding of the solution, its users, and its context, and contribute a customer focused perspective to help promote good engineering and delivery practices. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, grow their testing skills, and build a strong foundation in modern software testing. Responsibilities As a Junior Test Engineer at Inflo, you will: - Support the delivery of high quality software through structured and exploratory testing - Execute test cases and contribute to the design of test scenarios with guidance - Learn and apply testing techniques, tools, and basic automation approaches - Help assess and communicate application quality to the wider team - Assist in monitoring and sharing key quality and test metrics - Promote a focus on testability by working closely with engineers and product teams - Maintain and contribute to feedback loops to improve quality and delivery - Help curate and manage test data to support reliable testing - Contribute to documentation required for quality, audit, and compliance purposes - Continuously develop your technical and testing skills through learning and collaboration Required/desired skills & qualifications - Hands-on experience with testing techniques such as Exploratory Testing, RST, and test charters - Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks - Basic knowledge of .NET and software development concepts - An understanding of overall system architecture and how components interact - A BSc in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience) Core values in action - Science – You use structured and exploratory testing to gather meaningful evidence about product quality. The Testing and Evaluation Lead plays a critical role in leading software verification and validation (V&V) activities, ensuring that enterprise systems meet functional, performance, and compliance requirements—particularly for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This position is responsible for authoring and maintaining test plans, procedures, and reports, overseeing the execution of formal and informal tests, and ensuring the generation and collection of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to support system certification and accreditation. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience conducting system-level testing on complex enterprise software such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or similar platforms in regulated environments. Duties and Responsibilities: - Lead the development, execution, and documentation of test strategies, test plans, test procedures, and test reports in accordance with DoD standards. - Oversee and coordinate system-level integration testing, verification and validation (V&V), and user acceptance testing (UAT) or end user testing (EUT). - Ensure all testing activities produce appropriate OQE artifacts in support of program milestones and stakeholder reviews. - Define and manage test environments, test data sets, and testing configurations. - Support the development of Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTMs) to validate coverage and alignment of tests to system requirements. - Work closely with developers, system engineers, and cybersecurity teams to identify and resolve defects, track issues, and retest fixes. - Provide support for Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) and customer-led test events. - Ensure test documentation complies with contract deliverables, including CDRLs (e.g., Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Software Test Plan (STP), Test Reports, etc.). - Utilize test management and automation tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, Selenium) to improve test traceability and reporting. - Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to align test activities with release cycles and system baselines.
