About this opportunity: We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join the Compliance Office at Ericsson and form part of a world class compliance, integrity and risk function - reflecting Ericsson's commitment to a more holistic, forward-looking approach to compliance, integrity and risk management across the business. You will play a key role in reinforcing a strong compliance culture, promoting ethical conduct, and ensuring the execution of the Ethics & Compliance Program across our Customer Unit in Japan and the broader Market Area North East Asia (MNEA). The role encompasses the full spectrum of ethics and compliance risk: anti-bribery and corruption, antitrust and competition, anti-money laundering, human rights, anti-fraud, anti-terrorism, reputational risk, and beyond. The role holder will proactively identify emerging threats, regulatory developments, and business environment changes that could impact the organisation, and work with the business to own and respond where needed. This role will play a key part in enabling business leaders to own and manage risk as a driver of sustainable success. You will serve as a trusted adviser to management and employees, and acting as a key liaison between business units and the central Compliance Office. This role requires a strategic leader with strong subject matter expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. What you will do: • Drive a robust culture of integrity, risk management and compliance, encouraging transparency and responsible speaking-up - serving as a role model and encouraging employees to raise concerns• Support the implementation and monitoring of Ericsson's ethics and compliance program across assigned legal entities and Customer Units• Provide guidance on integrity, risk and compliance to internal stakeholders and support engagement with external stakeholders, including customers and third parties• Maintain a strong understanding of, and pragmatic engagement with, local business activities and applicable laws and regulations• Identify risks across the full spectrum of ethics and compliance risks, and develop risk-based pragmatic mitigation and compliance plans. • Define local/unit compliance priorities and plan the annual compliance activities, prioritising by risk.• Develop practical solutions to compliance issues, with a problem-solving mindset.• Conduct compliance risk assessments, reviews, and monitoring activities• Deliver compliance training and support awareness programs aligned with global and local requirements• Partner on sales and sourcing matters to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks• Support the Third-Party Due Diligence (TPDD) process and act as a key point of contact for related activities• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Sourcing, People) and external parties (customers, third parties) to ensure compliant business operations.• Support investigations and manage cases using the compliance case management system• Ensure effective processes for reporting compliance concerns and violations• Coordinate with legal teams and other stakeholders regarding interactions with regulators and authorities• Assist with compliance due diligence in mergers and acquisitions and support integration activities when required• Prepare compliance reports and updates for management and the compliance organization The skills you bring: • University degree in Law, Business, Accounting, or another relevant discipline• 5-10 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, audit, finance, or a related field• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements• Experience in antitrust, competition law, AML, data privacy, sanctions and trade compliance is an advantage• High level of integrity and strong alignment with Ericsson's values of respect, professionalism, and perseverance• Excellent networking ability and social skills (and strong cultural awareness) including the capability to handle executive level internal and external contacts, as well as the ability and appetite to work collaboratively with and advise employees at all levels of the organization. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills• Ability to work independently with a structured, analytical, and goal-oriented approach• International experience is an advantage• Fluent in English and Japanese (spoken and written)• Ability to manage and execute projects with urgency and across multiple time zones.• Willingness to travel as required Why join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you'll have an outstanding opportunity.
