Job Description

Senior Platform Engineer (100% Remote)

neoBIM GmbH

neoBIM is a cutting‑edge startup transforming the construction industry with AI‑powered Building Information Modeling (BIM). Co‑founded by industry pioneers, the company is on a mission to make BIM smarter, faster and more collaborative. With a growing team, neoBIM offers a collaborative work environment, a flexible but performance-oriented culture, and the chance to work on a project of global-scale ambition. We are currently recruiting for an experienced, hands-on Platform Engineer to help shape our infrastructure, improve system reliability, accelerate product development, and improve release cadence. This is a practical, high-impact role for someone who enjoys a varied workload across architecture and system design, infrastructure development, deployment and CI/CD, security, and developer experience. The ideal candidate will work closely with the engineering team, who are on-hand to guide and support. However, we are actively seeking a proactive, highly motivated engineer who can take ownership of project infrastructure, and who can drive the rollout of simple, elegant, maintainable, and well-documented solutions. Prior experience with SaaS companies in the AEC space is a plus. Tasks - Provision and manage cloud infrastructure reproducibly using infrastructure as code, likely via Terraform. - Design and maintain CI/CD workflows, including Git-based workflows and GitHub Actions. - Implement and manage observability, monitoring, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog. - Shape vulnerability scanning, dependency management, and system hardening. - Where required, administer Linux systems, including shell scripting, troubleshooting etc. Requirements - In-depth experience with one or more major cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security, with experience designing and operating production systems. - Experience deploying and operating managed relational, non-relational, and vector databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL via Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Weaviate, or Milvus. - Experience with modern authentication and identity tooling, including managed platforms such as Auth0, Clerk, and Zitadel. - Familiarity with modern managed platform services such as Vercel, Neon, and related developer infrastructure tools. - A strong operational mindset, with experience improving reliability, security, monitoring, deployment workflows, and incident response. - Good judgment about when to use managed services and when to bring more infrastructure under direct control within a major cloud provider, particularly in the context of a fast-moving startup. - Strong experience with infrastructure as code tooling, and a clear sense of how to keep infrastructure maintainable, consistent, and well-structured across a growing product portfolio. - Clear communication and documentation skills, and a pragmatic approach to deciding when to improve or extend existing systems versus undertaking a ground-up rebuild. nice-to-have - Familiarity with PostgreSQL administration, optimisation, backup and restore, and high-availability setups. - Experience working with monorepos and build orchestration tools such as Turborepo. - Experience with secrets management tooling, such as AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault, or GitHub/GitLab secrets management. - Ability to read and understand TypeScript in order to support application teams effectively. - Experience integrating infrastructure alerts, deployment notifications, and operational workflows into Slack. - Familiarity with modern engineering workflow tools such as Jira, Linear, GitLab, or similar. - Prior experience with SaaS companies in the AEC space. Benefits Attractive Compensation & Growth Path Strategic Ownership of High-Impact AI Initiatives Access to World-Class Infrastructure A Culture of Deep Tech and Real-World Application Flexibility with remote first work enviroment and a great team that shapes the future For any questions regarding this position, feel free to contact Felix directly via phone or messenger at +49 1769 54222094.
