We are looking for a Government Contracts Sales Director to drive and close revenue across federal, state, and municipal markets. This role is responsible for building a government sales pipeline from the ground up and converting opportunities into awarded contracts. The ideal candidate is a proven closer with direct experience winning government business and developing relationships with key agencies and partners. This is a high-impact role focused on generating near-term revenue while establishing a long-term public sector growth strategy. Responsibilities - Identify, pursue, and close government contract opportunities across federal, state, and municipal agencies - Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities using platforms such as SAM.gov, GovWin, and similar tools - Develop and maintain relationships with contracting officers, agencies, and prime contractors - Own the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract award and execution - Lead capture positioning and deal strategy to increase probability of contract wins - Collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with government requirements and procurement processes - Establish and execute go-to-market strategies for public sector growth and funding channels - Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on key performance metrics - Support proposal strategy and ensure alignment with compliance and submission requirements - Drive partnerships and teaming agreements to expand market access and contract opportunities
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in government sales, business development, or public sector contracting
- Proven track record of personally closing government contracts or directly owning revenue generation
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and municipal procurement processes (RFPs, RFQs, IDIQs, GSA schedules)
- Experience using SAM.gov, GovWin, or similar government opportunity platforms
- Existing relationships with government agencies or prime contractors preferred
- Ability to operate independently in a startup or build-from-scratch environment
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field preferred

The position will report to our Head of U.S. Sales Execution. Primary Focus Frontline Sales Execution Expertise, Partner & Customer Engagement, Pipeline Acceleration Mission To strengthen sales execution by applying execution expertise at the frontline-keeping deals moving, partners engaged, and field teams focused on winning. Key Focus Areas 1. Field Sales Execution & Revenue Enablement (50%) - Provide frontline execution support to ASMs, CBMs, KAMs, and KAEs to accelerate pipeline progression across assigned territories - Operate with discretion and judgment to support execution across multiple active opportunities and sales motions - Coordinate discovery calls, demos, webinars, and follow-up activities with customers and partners - Support low- to mid-complexity transactional opportunities to reduce administrative burden on field sellers - Assist with opportunity qualification, documentation, and early-stage progression - Act as the execution bridge that keeps opportunities moving while field teams focus on strategic selling 2.
