Job Description
Cyber Security Engineer (m/f/d)
TecAlliance
We are TecAlliance — founded by more than 30 automotive aftermarket companies as a neutral Data-as-a-Service market connector, serving as the neutral data terrain that interconnects them. With over 1,000 employees worldwide and customers in 140 countries, we enable the market — we never compete with it. You’ll be part of an English-speaking, fully EU remote team of security engineers focused on protecting TecAlliance’s platforms and data. You report to our Lead Information Security, Martin Ruf. You create a security environment by testing systems and human attack paths from an attacker’s perspective, fixing vulnerabilities before they’re exploited — making both our technology and people such unattractive targets that hackers think “no thank you,” while acting fast and decisively when incidents occur. Although we can never eliminate every risk completely, we can take steps to mitigate them. Your role: - Identify, assess, and mitigate information security risks across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. - Perform vulnerability assessments and security testing, translating findings into prioritized, actionable remediation. - Detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents, ensuring fast containment and minimal business impact. - Operate and continuously improve security tooling (e.g. detection, monitoring, vulnerability management). - Advise engineering and business teams on secure design, threat mitigation, and risk‑based decisions. - Strengthen company‑wide security posture through standards, best practices, and pragmatic security guidance. Your profile: - In-depth experience in technical information security and security engineering. - Strong practical background in vulnerability management, incident response, and security testing. - Ability to translate technical risks into clear recommendations for non‑security stakeholders. - A solid understanding of software development, modern platforms, and cloud environments to realistically assess attack paths and implement effective security controls. - Experience working closely with software engineers or background in software development (plus). - Relevant security certification (e.g. Offensive Security Certified Professional or comparable) or equivalent proven expertise. - Proficiency in English (B2+); Spanish or German are a strong plus. Please note - that TecAlliance can only consider candidates for employment who are legally authorized to work in a country listed in the job posting, where we have an established legal entity and payroll system. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to hire candidates who require relocation, visa support, or are located outside of that country. Of course you can apply, if you hold a work permit and are willing to / or already moved to the country. Thank you for your understanding. - that it is not possible to work outside of the country you are applying for. Meaning that, if you apply e.g. for Germany, you must work from within Germany. It is not possible to work from abroad. You can work at any location within the borders of the listed country, unless the job posting specifies a certain City. We kindly ask you to provide your CV in English and apply exclusively via the systems as other forms of application cannot be accepted due to GDPR. Thank you.
