Role Description We are seeking a zTPF Platform & Systems Engineering Manager. Our Platform and Systems Engineering teams enhance and maintain the stability of the zTPF complexes by providing high quality technical expertise and delivery for our zTPF platform, operating systems, and database. As zTPF Platform & Systems Engineering Manager, you will work with other Infrastructure Engineering leaders and teams, zTPF Systems Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Support teams performing daily activities ranging in complexity. You will be responsible for the leadership of teams who design, configure, test, maintain, and operate Travelport’s zTPF mainframe infrastructure. You will own and drive work efforts through all stages of the requirements, design, development, quality, and implementation life cycles. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, talented, technical, proactive person who embraces team culture, challenges, problem solving, and has a proven track record of delivering. - Lead a growing technical team responsible for the zTPF operating system, zTPF file support, and mainframe hardware. - Provide functional leadership for critical zTPF operating system, zTPF database, and mainframe platform capabilities, including new functionality, integration of IBM APARs, and maintenance of proprietary operating system modifications and utilities. - Provide functional leadership of the mainframe hardware configuration (CPU, DASD, VTS, HMC and FICON Directors), inclusive of hardware planning lifecycles, vendor engagement for upgrades, and production support of repair actions. - Collaborate with domain subject matter experts to identify strategies and align product management roadmaps with priorities and staffing capacity. - Apply knowledge of software engineering principles and quality concepts in the design, development, and maintenance of multiple components for a diverse family of products. - Understand integration and impact on adjacent systems, as well as short and long-term impact of technical decisions. - Collaborate with key stakeholders (architecture, security, application engineering, infrastructure engineering, project management, product, quality, etc.) to ensure solutions meet business requirements, including delivery quality, cost, timelines, and compliance. - Generate, communicate, and implement ideas to improve systems and/or streamline delivery. - Responsible for relationship building with key Travelport strategic customers. - Deliver production support services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and maintenance including escalation to vendors for service restoration and problem resolution. - Provide 24x7 on-call availability and support as a point of escalation for team members. Target Salary Range: $65,000 – $72,000 USD annually + commissions This range includes base salary plus variable incentive and will be finalized based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
