Role Overview We are looking for an exceptionally strong US GAAP Accountant and Finance Generalist Manager to join a lean, high-performing finance team operating in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical accounting expertise with operational ownership, thrives on solving complex problems, and brings extreme attention to detail. This individual will own the multi-entity monthly Accounting close process, oversee all Accounts Payable operations, and act as the central hub for finance requests and operational workflows through our finance ticketing system. The role requires someone who is comfortable moving between technical accounting, operational execution, cross-functional requests, and budgeting support. You will be part of a small, fierce, highly capable team where accountability is high and impact is immediate. What You'll Do Accounting & Close - Own and execute the monthly close across multiple global entities - Coordination with external tax team - Ensure accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP - Manage journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions - Maintain and improve close processes, documentation, and internal controls - Identify accounting issues and proactively resolve them Accounts Payable Ownership - Oversee end-to-end AP processes - Ensure proper invoice coding, approvals, and payment execution - Improve AP workflows and implement automation where possible Finance Operations & Requests - Act as the owner of the finance ticketing system - Manage and triage ad-hoc finance requests across the organization - Serve as a generalist finance operator, helping drive solutions across accounting, finance ops, and reporting - Ensure requests are resolved quickly, accurately, and with strong communication Budgeting & Financial Planning Support - Provide support and facilitate the budgeting and forecasting processes - Partner with finance leadership to track budget vs. actuals - Assist in financial analysis to support operational decision making Process Improvement - Continuously improve finance operations in a high-velocity environment - Implement automation, tooling, and workflow improvements - Maintain strong documentation and scalable processes
Job Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor's in Accounting; licensed CPA, and Master's preferred but not required
- Deep US GAAP accounting expertise
- Experience running full monthly close processes in a multi-entity global company
- Ownership of Accounts Payable processes
- Strong ability to manage high-volume operational requests
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment
- Preferences for:
- Experience in crypto, digital assets, or fintech
- Experience using Power Query or advanced Excel tooling
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning

Job Description As an Accountant 1, Accounting, and part of the Accounts Payable Team, you will be responsible on the end-to-end Invoice Processing for the assigned region or entity on a timely and accurate manner that requires close coordination with key stakeholders such as Payments Team, Local Accounting and Finance, Procurement and other Teams within GFO. You also need to ensure that issues or concerns will be addressed and resolved on a timely manner and to maintain a harmonious relationship with your stakeholders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including timely and accurate processing and validation of invoices. - Ensure that Purchase Orders (PO) and Goods Receipts (GR) are properly matched and processed (3-way/2-way match). - Verify, investigate, and handle invoice discrepancies and invoices on hold for assigned entities and suppliers. - Handle and resolve inquiries from suppliers and stakeholders. - Work cross functionally to resolve any invoice/payment issues. - Review and reconcile supplier statement of accounts against company's records. - Prepare balance sheet reconciliation at month end for the assigned accounts. - Support continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing projects. - Compliance with SSC Accounts Payable KPIs and process metrics. - Perform other duties as assigned. SUMMARY The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with US GAAP in a private equity–backed environment. This role manages a small accounting team, plays a key role in inventory and cost accounting, and supports timely and reliable financial information for management, lenders, and the private equity sponsor. The position is hands-on and operational, with a strong focus on close execution and continuous process improvement within the company’s Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) ERP environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Financial Reporting & Close - Manage and execute the monthly close process - Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly trial balance in accordance with U.S. GAAP and support reporting requirements for the private equity sponsor - Learn the business to provide timely commentary on the monthly operating results - Provide support for the annual external audit as requested and serve as a key point of contact with external auditors - Oversee key accounting estimates and judgments, including accruals, reserves, and inventory-related accounts - Inventory & Cost Accounting - Oversee inventory accounting for a multi-location wholesale distribution business - Monitor and account for inventory shrink, obsolescence, freight capitalization, rebates, and vendor programs - Support cycle count processes and annual physical inventories, ensuring proper reconciliation and reserve adjustments - Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and controls - ERP & Systems - Serve as the key accounting owner for Great Plains - Ensure proper system configuration, data integrity, and consistent accounting treatment within the ERP, to include any add-ons - Coordinate with IT to maintain and enhance reporting through external tools, which currently include SQL and Tableau - Support process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system-related initiatives - Internal Controls & Compliance - Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting appropriate for a lean accounting organization in a private equity–backed environment - Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and lender reporting requirements - Support working capital management and covenant reporting - Leadership & Team Management - Manage and develop one direct report within the accounting function - Review work product, provide coaching, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met - Promote accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement - Cross-Functional & Strategic Support - Partner with the VP of Accounting and the Director of FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow initiatives - Support acquisition integration efforts as needed, including accounting alignment and process standardization - Collaborate with operations, sales, and IT to ensure financial data supports business decision-making - Administer the company’s T&E credit card program (issue new cards, cancel cards, review and approve limit increases, ensure expense reports are processed timely to facilitate payment) QUALIFICATIONS - Required - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
