Role Description Amazon Logistics is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on and customer-obsessed Project Engineer that can drive expansion in our Last Mile Delivery network. As a member of the Amazon Logistics Emerging Markets Engineering team you will be responsible for leading the launch of new delivery stations in Brazil and Mexico, owning the planning and implementation of the building launch schedule and coordination of suppliers and vendors. Additionally, you will support the design, optimization and maintenance of Building Infrastructure, Material Handling Equipment and Processes of our existing and future Logistics network. This role will be based out of Europe and will involve frequent and extended travel to Latin America. - Support the site selection and evaluation process by drafting test fit layouts and researching building and site related information to identify any relevant issues that impact the economic or operational value of a site. - Support the preparation of specifications and technical detail to fully define the requirements on building environment, equipment, material, process and services. - Review all technical documentation such as Buildings layouts, traffic plans, flow diagrams, conveyor and equipment layouts, installation details, schedules and budgets to ensure that they meet requirements. - Active involvement in cross functional infrastructure projects, provide technical input and conduct value engineering/value analysis. - Continuous improvement of team processes, driving savings in time and cost of internal and launch activity. - Work independently or lead a project team that could comprise of project managers, project engineers and contractors. - Flexibility to travel to Latin America as much as (50-75%) to support deployment projects. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree. - 3+ years of project/program management experience. - Speak, write, and read fluently in English. - Experience working with Material handling equipment (MHE). - Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering. - Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field. - Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools. - Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification. Overview As a Principal Site Reliability Engineer you will lead curial initiatives in the team responsible for durable, high-quality handling of high severity, customer impacting, incidents across Microsoft M365 Substrate Core services. As our systems continue to expand in scope and complexity, this role ensures incidents are handled consistently, predictably, and with clear ownership, minimizing customer impact while accelerating recovery and organizational learning. This role combines leadership in the reliability domain, incident command, and operational governance, working in close partnership with Incident Managers (IMs), Service Owners, and executive stakeholders. You will set standards for how Substrate responds to its most severe outages and drive the evolution of incident handling and escalation practices across all production rings and public/sovereign clouds. Responsibilities - Own execution quality for Substrate high severity incidents, ensuring clear command, decisive leadership, and forward momentum during high impact events. - Act as the senior incident leader or sponsor for long running, high stakes, or cross service incidents, ensuring alignment on impact, risk, and recovery priorities. - Partner closely with Incident Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and service leaders to ensure effective diagnosis, escalation, and mitigation when ownership is unclear or action is blocked - Ensure high quality post incident reviews and drive accountability for repair items that reduce recurrence and systemic risk. Ensure consistent application of severity and priority models, outage declaration criteria, and executive escalation paths. - Coach and help develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers serving as incident responders. - Build a culture of calm execution, accountability, psychological safety, and continuous learning during and after incidents. - Help hire and grow senior talent capable of operating as trusted leaders in high pressure, executive visible situations. - Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leaders and executives on live site risk, readiness, and incident response maturity. - Communicate clearly and credibly with senior leadership during customer impacting events. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
