What is the Role: We’re seeking a collaborative and driven Tax Manager to join our Tax team and focus on international taxes in jurisdictions outside of the United States. You will play a critical part of evaluating and streamlining processes in an increasingly sophisticated global organization. As the Tax Manager, you will lead critical project management, communications, and operational efforts. As part of a multi-functional global Finance team, you will be a critical member ensuring we operate most efficiently and optimally as Elastic continues to scale. You’ll also engage with a diverse range of Elasticians and external business partners across the globe and are constantly learning, growing, and adapting. This role will have two direct reports. What You Will Be Doing: - Lead all aspects of international GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory tax provisions, including working with Elasticians across various teams and external auditors - Ensure compliance with SOX controls and reporting as a public company - Oversee and manage external consultants to ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, R&D credit studies, foreign tax returns, Pillar 2, and transfer pricing compliance - Coordinate and manage compliance audits and inquiries from tax authorities - Support various tax projects such as acquisitions, restructurings, tax planning, and legal entity assessment - Actively monitor and analyze global tax legislation and impact to Elastic - Research international tax technical issues – corporate tax focused but also assist with other taxes - Mentor and train direct reports as well as others both within and outside the Tax team to foster continued growth of tax knowledge and build collaborative relationships across the organization What You Bring Along: - Tax provision experience under US GAAP required and IFRS strongly preferred. - Experience in managing Tax compliance required. - Bachelor’s degree in accountancy. CPA and/or MS in Tax strongly preferred. - 5+ years of progressive, proven experience across both industry and large accounting firms working with global companies. - Experience with NetSuite, OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Uncertain Tax Position,. - Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. - Strong analytical and management skills combined with interest and experience in process improvement, automation, and efficiency Bonus Points: - A real passion for fast-paced and dynamic environments, the ability to thrive in the details and adapt quickly to a changing environment - A dedication to think big, use data to drive strategy, challenge convention, and potentially reinvent how work is done - A proficiency in optimizing processes and programs with a keen understanding of the balance between structure and flexibility - Experience with NetSuite is a plus - A sense of humor and ability to roll with the punches definitely a plus Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. About the Team This position will be critical in supporting the finance organization, working closely with accounting, accounts receivable/payable, FP&A, payroll, people strategy and treasury teams.
