Role Description The Regional Voluntary Benefit Practice Leader is responsible for formulating coordinated business strategies and operational plans to ensure the sales, growth, and profitability of UnitedHealthcare’s Supplemental Health Portfolio across all segments and markets within their specified region. The primary responsibility will be the continued expansion of our existing Voluntary Benefits portfolio and the creation and execution of sales and distribution strategies across internal and external distribution channels that will drive profitable revenue expansion nationally. The position reports directly to the VP, Voluntary Benefits, and is an individual contributor with a high degree of motivating and influencing across UHC commercial sales. If you are located in Western Region, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Qualifications - 5+ years of work experience at an executive level with solid professional contacts and a command of specialty & voluntary benefits distribution. - 5+ years of experience with supplemental health programs. - 5+ years working with vendor partnerships and vendor management. - 5+ years of proven negotiation skills; the ability to gain acceptance from others of a plan or idea and achieve a mutually beneficial outcome. - 5+ years of cross-functional experience in dealing with customers, products, brokers, closing deals, pricing and competition. - Ability to travel between 25-50% (local and domestic). Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated financial acumen with experience in measurement, data analysis and interpretation.
