In Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions, we design and manufacture state-of-the-art systems and technology that enable our customers to execute their precision strike missions. We are looking for a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to join the PGSS Product Line team, focusing on increasing production rates across our supply base. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of supplier quality, a strong level of business acumen, and experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment. This person will drive the implementation of advanced sourcing, supplier management, supply chain risk reduction strategies through the Supply Chain Workstream. This will include travel to suppliers to perform capacity assessments, value stream analysis, and production verification assessments to plan for volume increases. The successful candidate will be expected to develop progressive supply chain approaches, to support the growth of the business, and to meet or exceed business area and functional goals and objectives. This position collaborates regularly with other internal senior leaders from programs, operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, contracts, and externally with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality leadership. This position will include approximately 50% travel. Travel will be a mix of local, day visits as well as overnight travel, outside the local area. The Role will: - Execute the strategy and risk mitigation of PGSS supply chain growth associated with current and future business needs, from a supplier quality perspective - Be an engaged member of the PGSS Team, working close with the Supply Chain and Quality leads and advising the team on supplier quality aspects of supply chain execution - Perform on-site capacity assessments, Value Stream Mapping activities, process verification assessments, etc. across our supply base - Partner with the Category Supplier Quality team on risk mitigation and supplier development based on the needs of the program/product line - Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and program quality to identify part and supplier risk for proactive mitigation activities. - Drive "Zero Defect" culture within the supply base The successful candidate: - A self-driven problem solver who will utilize your analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues - Experience with lean manufacturing including capacity assessments and value stream maps - A strong desire and mindset to drive actions and projects to closure without being prompted - Strong business acumen and understanding of how supply chain performance is an enabler to business growth - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization - Possesses a strong understanding of Quality Science tools (APQP/PPAP, 8D RCCA, Statistical Process Controls, Lean Six Sigma, Sampling and Inspection, FAI/PPV) along with relevant industry standards and their application to drive execution excellence Remote work, anywhere in the greater 50 states, will be considered for the right candidate.
