Responsibilities Peraton is seeking an Automated Testing QA Engineer (Journeyman) to support the MODES III program supporting Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP). In this role, the selected candidate will design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites to validate the program deliverables (websites, applications, APIs, and platform services), ensuring quality for production releases and supporting CI/CD pipelines. This position is remote and requires an active Secret clearance. JOB DESCRIPTION - Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites to validate MODES III deliverables (websites, applications, APIs, and platform services), ensuring quality for production releases and supporting CI/CD pipelines. - Develop and execute automated functional, integration, regression, and API tests (Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, pytest, JUnit, Postman/Newman) to verify application behavior, performance, and security controls prior to production promotion. - Implement accessibility and Section 508/WCAG automated checks and remediation workflows; produce accessibility test reports and work with developers to close issues before release. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/CodeBuild/GitLab CI/CodePipeline) and ensure test runs are part of pipeline gates (unit, integration, SAST/DAST hooks) to support DevSecOps and RMF/ATO readiness. - Build and maintain test data pipelines and synthetic telemetry for realistic test scenarios; coordinate with Data Engineers and DBAs to provision test environments and mask/handle CUI/PII appropriately. - Define Test Plans, Test Cases, and Acceptance Criteria aligned with user stories and DoD requirements; convert requirements into automated, reproducible test artifacts and link results to program task tracking and dashboard reporting. - Execute performance and load tests (JMeter, Gatling, Locust) to validate web health goals (page load, uptime, concurrency) and produce findings for platform optimization and capacity planning. - Triage defects with developers and participate in incident response for test found issues; document defects, verify fixes, and track closure in ticketing systems; feed quality metrics into weekly/monthly status reports and MODES III dashboards. - Maintain and evolve automated test frameworks, test harnesses, and test orchestration tooling; mentor junior QA engineers on automation best practices and secure testing approaches. - Familiar with: Test architecture & strategy, Selenium/Grid, Appium, Espresso, JUnit/TestNG, Cypress, Playwright, API testing (Postman/Newman, REST-assured), performance testing (JMeter/Gatling), CI integration (Jenkins/GitLab CI), test data management, test automation frameworks (Page Object, BDD/Cucumber), security testing integration (SAST/DAST), test environment orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), test reporting (Allure, Hygieia), mocking/stubbing (WireMock), service virtualization. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Active Secret clearance required. - Experience / Education: 5 years relevant experience with BS/BA degree or 3 years with MS/MA or 1 year with Phd or 9 years w/o a degree or 7 years with AS/AA - Certifications: This role requires a demonstration of capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Successful applicants must satisfy Foundational Qualification standards via an approved industry certification (e.g., A+ or Network+) or documented equivalent military/educational training as defined in the DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix. Target Salary Range $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
