Job Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in the target language
  • A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR
  • A graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR
  • 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
  • 3- years demonstrable experience in localizing in game video content.
  • In depth and practical understanding of the nuances and considerations of translating the following gaming content types: UlContent/menus, Mission text, Non-Player Character (NPC) ambient dialogue, Locked cutscene subtitle blocks.
  • Transcreation experience specifically within the gaming sector, translating crime fiction for games.
  • An in-depth understanding of the Cosa Nostra (Sicilian Mafia) in the 1900’s.
  • Experience translating the specific jargon of organized crime, turn of the turn-of-the-century firearms and vehicles.
  • Familiarity with game engines and localization pipelines.
  • Knowledge of scripting formats (e.g., XML, JSON) is a plus.
  • Passion for video games, especially sports, action, or narrative-driven titles.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Lory Landing Exhibit Interpreter in the Aviculture Department, you will perform a variety of tasks related to the handling and care of animals/birds and their environments. As Exhibit Interpreters, you will also provide educational information along to the public through informal interpretations. Interpreters use exhibit graphics, biofacts, and live animals to deliver informative conservation messages in an interactive aviary.
